He's like our typical heroine/FLs where there's a mix of naive, innocense, damsel-ish but sorta holds his own and has wits and sees things that other people don't plus he's kind to animals (another FL type trait)LOL we should be glad he doesn't have a high pitched or too soft baby voice LOL I'm just comparing him to FLs/heroines because I haven't seen ML's be anything but maybe naive, too kind, easily bullied unless they were faking being that. It's typical to see a uneducated/ignorant/not so smart supporting sidekick but I haven't seen one similar to Chen Shi that's why I compared him to FLs.
I like him. I think he's the opposite of ML and also the one that can reel him in as well as show him that he's not alone. It's like two lonely people found each other and can confide in one another. While sure ML might be open with his team, he's not as open with them as he is with Chen Shi.

It feels like in this series he's half-serious and half-fun like he can let loose like a cat...meow and his acting didn't feel stiffled by the dub🤭

Noona does not mean older sister (like blood sister/sibling) in this context. It's also used to address a close female friend who is older as well as a lover that is older by a younger man. It's a term of endearment and closeness. Both Noona and Oppa are used in different context. Either between siblings or close friends or lovers. Even though as lovers, there are plenty of other words LOL but in a way it's a cute way to say things too.

Sadly, filial piety in our (Asian) culture dictates respect for your elders no matter what although with Gen MZ, we are kind of learning to be more diplomatic with the way we handle that. For some reason mothers from that generation are much more strict/toxic/tiger moms that dictate how you have to walk, talk, eat, etc with their daughters (son's always the favourites) compared to those born in the late 70s/80s/90s mothers are less controlling/less tiger mom and also depends what regions are they rural/more city broadminded and who they are associated with because you have those competitive bishes which feels more fierce with 70s/80s/90s moms LOL If you want to see a similar mom and daughter relationship that feels more layered but from a CN perspective watch Islands with Ma Sichun

I know manga lovers want it to be super faithful but I think 8 eps including an episode of Kai's POV would have been great. Sometimes we need to give a bit more depth if like the manga creator is involved like with My Personal Weatherman, the manga creator had input and even created extras for the manga because of the series.

We don't know yet. All we've heard so far is that they are trying to figure things out. The merch is a bit pricey but it's to try to make some money vs no money. I guess they didn't expect the series to not air at all. They had hoped to recoup money. The main screenwriter invested money into this and apparently went bankrupt that he has to use the wifi from KFC.

Err.... The subs are coming along, I think there are like 3 fansubbers working on them LOL

I think they are trying to see if DVDs are possible and not against regulations. Normally it would only be in CN unless they can secure an international way to sell legally.

Hopefully Viki gets it soon for those that need to make sense of the subs on all platforms. They are better(?) than MangoTV subs LOL but still. It's bad for those paying for the memberships on Tencent/WeTV/HuashiTV that get subpar subs.

It feels like we have too many important characters and we are getting slight glimpses. Like we need more background on each one. FL and her mother are the mains, I guess but we are only getting glimpses on the mom's life leading to how (not sure if this can describe her as helicopter/tiger mom) controlling she is. Like I guess it's an onion but with other side characters seem to be important as well .
