If he truly felt uncomfortable at that time, he had two months to ask his team to edit it out and should have…
Didn't he ask them right there as they were leaving the set "Why did you call me that? Why did you change my name?" They just ignored him. It's not sth we are making up. It is in episode 12. Check it yourself.
All of the issues were actually addressed on their livestream on February 27. They explained to Wang Hedi about…
First, we watched it too. She tried hard to dodge the question. She was forced to say what she thought. Did she apologize for excluding Dylan from their chats? No. When the comedian asked if he could be added to the hotspot chat, she had no problem with that whereas she said no to Dylan during the show. Second, Dylan DID NOT accuse her or any other member of anything. He wrote about how HE felt.
When you can't prove the perpetrator is not guilty, you must make the victim look bad. That is what is happening. It's sad that people can't think critically and even read at all. Dylan's words "I thought I was oversensitive then" mean he was not ok with the situation, but thought it was his fault. Having seen the show he saw the situation as it was and felt his feelings resonated with what people saw. That's about reading. Now, critical thinking. He writes about himself (!) Does he demand an apology? Does he blame anyone? No. What is he accused of? Feelings? You'll say "his fans were attacking her". Well, they saw the show, they saw it was her "clever" idea. What do you want? As for the justification for the title, it's the weirdest thing I've read in a long time. "You are just a X" equals "You are the best of the best". Really? I don't know any language where these phrases are synonymous. The chat screenshots. That is cherry on the cake. Look, we paid money to support his project, but he is ungrateful. With the exception that the chat she showed was made after the show was done shooting. In their Livestream she said there were 3. During the show they kept making silly jokes in his face about their small corner, from which he was excluded. Now, she is good, but he just misunderstood the situation. Sorry, these are signs of gaslighting. She is not the only one to blame for the situation. All five people messed up. And their behaviour has to receive condemnation, not Dylan. Dylan's mistake was that he was too kind to them.
Wang He Di deserves all the best. Why is he the leader of the show Inn? He has a positive attitude to work. He is accountable for the results and work of the team. He is approachable and proactive. He listens to his team. He makes decisions. He is ready to step in when necessary and help out. He delegates tasks and trusts others to do them. His only weakness is that he's too kind to people, who can't seem to appreciate it. It's not a script. It's life and those who can't empathise have probably never faced similar situations in life. People who know what critical thinking is will know who is right and who is wrong.
What happened is truly upsetting. I’ve been watching the show and enjoying it a lot. So, what I expected from the final episode(s) was some heart-felt moments. Lots of laughs and tears. What I didn’t expect is that “the employees” would be so disrespectful towards their leader. At the awards ceremony Wang He Di, the manager, commented on each person and their hard work. Gave them some nice titles in recognition for their hard work. However, when it was his turn, a group of five people mocked him. Changed his name, calling him Wang He Low/Bottom, gave him the title “only Wang He Di award” demeaning his role as the manager of the Inn, said they had a group chat he was excluded from, asked “Can we work without you?” and laughed. Just laughed. It’s so disrespectful. They could have saved the situation by saying something nice and sincere one by one after the “joke”, but it didn’t happen! Five adult people, frequent guests on variety shows, who have all worked with Wang He Di before and not just once, couldn’t say anything to him. Another really shocking thing is that while they were discussing the title, nobody thought it could hurt or offend Di Di. Three of them are older than Wang He Di, one the same age and one a year younger. Chan Xiao is from the same agency as Dylan. His best-known role is in Love between Fairy and Devil. Why was he on the show? Because Dylan was there. Yet, he said nothing. Qin Lan has always got on so well with Dylan. He really likes and respects her. She said nothing. Honestly, the most upsetting thing for me. Wu Ze Lin, after having worked alongside Dylan on Hello Saturday, came up with “Wang He Low/Bottom” idea. Shen Yue came up with the title. Well-done “best team”, “family”, as Dylan keeps calling them throughout the show. Last night Dylan posted that he thought he was oversensitive at the moment, but having seen the episode and read the comments he understood that he did feel uncomfortable. He didn’t blame anyone in particular, didn’t complain, just admitted the situation didn’t make him feel good. Shen Yue made an apology, trying to explain what she meant by the title. Wouldn’t it have been better to explain it at that very moment? I’m disappointed with all of them. Now her fans try to defend her, finding fault with Dylan and hating on him in all possible ways. Responsibility lies with all five people. “Why didn’t he express his feelings privately?” is one of the accusations from haters. Did the team say all those things privately? They prepared the script, did it in front of the camera and laughed their head off. Dylan does deserve apology from all of them even if it was intended as a joke. It failed. And one more thing. If the roles were reversed and some of those “considerate, thoughtful and educated” people were treated like that? Would they take it as a witty joke?
