The original series was one of the worst BLs I've ever seen and this... was pretty much the same. I told myself I wouldn't check out anything else related to Cutie Pie, but this had only 4 episodes, so I decided to give it a try and after the first episode I thought it had potential, but nope... It was the same plotless and boring story with unneeded drama, it felt like I was watching the same thing over and over again. The 3rd and 4th episodes with the wedding were so uneventful, just like in Cutie Pie, they had no idea what to fill the episodes with, it was either se*ual scenes or one big nothing. Why was "I missed you. " repeated so many times during the 1st episode? Did someone go to Mars for a few months or what? The best thing about the drama were Nuer and Syn, but they didn't get the attention they deserved. Instead of a 4 episode waste of time kind of drama, they could've simply made this into a movie or a longer 1 special episode. This and the original series made me feel nothing and Nunew debuting in Korea as a singer almost made me laugh. All in all, a bit better than the 1st season, simply because it was much shorter, thank God, but I still believe there are far better BLs and I don't recommend this.
Having watched Park Hae Soo in Squid Game first and then here, feels weird. xD But he definitely did a great job with his character! I can't say the same about Jung Kyung Ho, it's my third drama with him and his acting just doesn't grab me. The drama has some boring moments and it's slow, but it surely picks up at some point, the length of the episodes is another problem, because they really are long. The OST was amazing, I knew 2-3 songs from before and I've always liked them. What's special about this drama is the relationship between the prisoners and their interactions. Jaehyuk and Joonho's dating and daily life didn't really interest me and there was a certain point when I told myself "Please, stop throwing more and more in Jaehyuk's way!", it's like they wanted to present him as the most unfortunate and unlucky person in the world. The supporting characters - the guards and Jaehyuk's cell mates are why I recommend this drama. The humor and fights were iconic, Looney FTW! haha A 8/10 from me ~
This was... very disappointing. Thankfully, I had no expectations before I started watching it. xD I didn't like the start of the drama at all, that dating thing was too forced. Why did they have to date in the first place? Why did Denis behave like that? (Did he remember something from his previous life? Because it was very briefly shown, but he was the one who killed Dong Baek in the past.) No explainations were given at all. The drama just made me feel nothing. Some parts of it sounded promising, but I couldn't feel any real feelings between the mains. The good thing is that the episodes are only 10-12 minutes long, so it's easy to watch and the ending was okay, but I don't recommend this drama at all, I can't give it more than 5/10.
It's my fault for not reading the tags, because I know what the Gwangju uprising is about. Judging from the poster and the synopsis, I thought this would be a cheerful movie about 2 different people on a journey together, very misleading. So the movie was not what I expected, the acting was good and it is all sad and tragic considering what really happened in 1980 and how the most responsible ones got away. There's a lot of fiction in the movie though, but it definitely affected both the reporter (whose last wish was to be buried in Gwangju, but his family didn't allow it) and the taxi driver, who couldn't bear what he had witnessed and passed away soon after due to heavy drinking. It's a story, which we can learn from for sure, but seeing the world as it is today... not that much has changed in those last 40 years.
Jisung and Jinyoung's chemistry carried out the whole show. The OST was amazing, the acting too, the cinematography as well. The plot had some original parts and some, which were just a way too much. In a way, the drama reminds me of Vincenzo, because of the high class, characters, story, but in both cases, the hype was too much and there are far better dramas. I love Jisung and he was wonderful as always, the second half of the drama was better, because it was more intense, but in general... the whole story didn't grab me that much. I'll still give this 7/10 ~
I couldn't shake off the thoughts that Go Ho Jung looks like Im Siwan in general, Lee Jae Bin reminded me of Kim Woobin in School 2013 and Kim Seong Hyuk really gave off Kim Bum vibes (especially like in the Tale of the Nine Tailed), just google them, they are all so alike! Besides that... I had no expectations for this drama, but I was nicely surprised by it. It just made me smile and it gave off a warm feeling. The actors did a great job! Even though it is evident that the drama has a low budget, it was shot beautifully, much effort was put into it. A very stable 7/10 from me.
I really tried to like this, but.... it was TERRIBLE and BORING. I could barely finish it. Leo was used for his popularity and I've been following VIXX since their debut, so I was well aware of the fact that we won't see any acting from him, he was pretty much what he usually is like - a beautiful face with a honey voice, barely any emotions and cold attitude. Ha Jong Woo did a nice job at being a happy puppy, but that was it. The story didn't grab me at all, everything was so dramatic for no reason and nothing was clear, they wanted us to connect the dots all the time. This drama is a total waste of time, so I don't recommend it at all. I can't give it more than 5/10, but even that feels like too much.
I was excited about this drama, but I somehow couldn't get into it... I liked the acting, the ost, the filming locations and definitely the idea, but something just didn't click for me. Not many people get to say a proper goodbye to their loved ones before they die, so I understand why people love the series so much, I wish I didn't feel like something as a whole was missing, but I do. I absolutely don't regret watching it though and even people who aren't interested in BL, should see it.
I can't believe it's been 2 years since the drama came out, when it comes to Japanese BLs, nothing can top it to this day for me. So obviously, the movie wasn't as good as the series, but it doesn't have to be. It had more serious and dramatic vibes, since the the magic, goofiness and fluffiness weren't the main aspects like in thedrama. Adachi is still Kurosawa's whole world and that's what matters. I liked the second half of the movie more and I think the series were wrapped up nicely, so if you loved the drama as much as I did, I believe you should still watch this movie, it's not a disappointment, just... don't compare it to the drama. :)
This drama was... such a huge disappointment, maybe it's my fault for having high expectations. I always waited for something to happen and yet... I thought there would be more thriller, more mystery, while instead we ran in circles, I totally lost interest and it took me 2 months to finish it. The way all the drama and issues were handled towards the end was just beyond terrible. I felt like I had skipped an episode or something and the "movie" thing... wow, why in the world...? The actors had nice chemistry and I really liked how Khaotung presented his character, he showed a very different persona than the one in A Tale of Thousand Stars. All in all, there was no build up, whoever had to come up with the plot, didn't do their job properly. A hopeful 6,5/10 from me just because of the potential this had, the acting, filming locations (outside of the school) and the ost.
I guess this drama was just... unlucky and it was made and aired at the wrong time. Considering that it was aired almost 7 years ago, but I watched it just now, I get why it got so much hype back then and even though it got banned and the actors had difficulties after that, it surely paved the way for many more BLs to come. I really liked the chemistry between the mains, they seemed very comfortable with each other, which made things work and I enjoyed the transition from enemies to friends, but not the transition from friends to lovers. It felt forced and that SA scene was so uncalled for. I also didn't understand anything about You Qi's hostile behaviour towards Yang Meng. For supporting characters close to the mains, I thought they would play a bigger part in the drama. I don't think my opinion about the series would be much different if it had been aired completely, I'm not fond of unfinished things, but oh well... As a whole, the drama has its pluses and its minuses, so a 6,5/10 from me ~
The drama lacks in many aspects, but I'm a sucker for time travelling. The OST was amazing and so were the actors, especially Moon Ji Yong, but the supporting actors (as well as the ones not listed here - like the child) did a nice job as well. I liked the chemistry between the mains and there are some things, which I find annoying when it comes to the crime case itself, but I still enjoyed this drama, it was easy and enjoyable to watch. A steady 7/10 from me.
I didn't like this drama, it made me feel uncomfortable and it was cringy. The leads and very acting was far from good and the story itself goes in circles. The first episode was just terrible... a confession and a break-up scene just a few minutes apart? Come on. The only thing that saved the drama was Suzuku Kosuke. I can't give this more than 5/10.
The drama and the charaters are... ridiculous, but I still enjoyed it. If you've never seen anything from Japan, the humor and the acting might not suit your taste. But the actors did a really good job. From the mains, I liked Matsuoka more and from the supporting cast... props to Yahagi Honoka and Kaji Masaki, they were great. Japan's short BLs just prove that they can be wholesome even without a kiss scene or much skinship, it's not always needed. I had no expectations when I walked into this, but I was nicely surprised by it.
The drama is definitely an upgrade if we compare it to Kissable Lips, but their acting is still a bit awkward and the whole concept is too unbelievable. Too much time was spent on them being enemies and things were rushed in the last 2 episodes. When it comes to short BL series, Japan is doing better in the area. Here... I can't rate this higher than 6, but even that feels like too much.
The actors had a nice chemistry, but sometimes they acted a way too childish and gosh... those shameless ads, it's been a while, since I've seen so much focus on them. I like the idea of the drama itself - to fall in love not with the visual, but with the soul. However, I think too much time was spent on making the movies and less on actual bonding and the parallel universes & I really wish there was a bit more about Tess/Tun, just some clarifications about their relationship and situation's they've been in. I can't say it's a waste of time, but it's nothing exceptional either. A 6,5/10 from me ~
First of all, if someone is looking for a similar drama, there are many about serial murders or connection between past-present, but I recommend Tunnel, which involves actual time-traveling and murders and is the most alike to this one. I'm glad I didn't look at the tags here before starting the drama, because the "hallucination" one is kind of spoiler, because until the last few episodes I wondered if Tae Joo isn't somehow really in 1988. As a whole, I enjoyed the drama, though some things were somehow slow for me. But I really liked the chemistry between the main cast, I know Taejoo's personality isn't the most lively one, but the actor was still a bit stiff for me. Go Ahsung and Park Sungwoong definitely outshined Jung Kyunho. The comedy elements were also very nicely done and the thriller part was good too. I love the vibe of the 80s/90s, so the setting was a huge plus as well. But I just feel like some things are missing, maybe even more background information about the brothers or a bit of Taejoo's "new life". The drama really shows how some people are just born in the wrong generation and would feel much more comfortable with another timeline, but oh well... in real life we can't make such choices xD Overall, an 8/10 for me ~
I read a lot of negative comments, but the drama just left me feeling... warm in general. It had a vibe that had a calming effect on me. It actually sticks pretty close to the manga, so it's a really good adaptation and it's a very "Japanese drama" in its unique way, that's why it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Akira's behaviour really could be considered annoying and not suitable for his age, but Shin being immature, impulsve and impatient is super child-like and he still is, so he acts like one. I did enjoy the acting, especially from Nishigaki Sho! The supporting characters were a nice touch as well. & gosh... I don't know the name of the filming location, but this city was just amazing! A 7,5/10 from me ~
Firstly, I checked out the 2020 version and yeah... that was terrible. So at the start of this drama I had really high hopes, because the first 3-4 episodes were very promising and I thought I would rate it at least 8/10. BUT... IN CIRCLES WE GO. I think this describes the drama the best. At a certain point, I felt like I was watching the same thing over and over again... they could've easily cut down on the number of episodes to avoid so much repetitive drama. There were some ridiculous scenes and moments that I just want to forget and yeah, the relationship is toxic, but sadly, in real life, there are many people who give more than two chances. I will still give this 7/10, only because of the acting! Yin and War did an amazing job, especially War, he knows how to break hearts. The drama has its ups and downs and I got kind of bored towards the end, but I'm still going to miss it in a way. I hope Yin and War get to do another project together in which... they won't cause each other so much pain. xD
Honestly.... this was nothing special when it comes to the plot. The cast was great though, so they made it work. The music was good as well, but the first half of the drama was a bit too slow for me. Watching this is a nice way to pass some time, but I can't rate it higher than 6,5/10 ~
