Title The K2
A drama with so much wasted potential. I don't want to blame the actress who played Go An Na for everything, the writing for that character was just terrible, but I had no connection to her at all. I couldn't really care when she was in danger and she really suffered in comparison to Song Yoon Ah.

She was just a powerhouse actress, and I think that Choi Yoo Jin should have been the main love interest, or even if it was just a friendship between her and Kim Je Ha that was at the center of this drama, that would have been fine as well. I just can't with these helpless females anymore. I just can't.

Title The Women's Room Spoiler
This was a typical Korean revenge drama, but I enjoyed it. There was a lot of stupidity that was so contrived that there are going to be moments where you roll your eyes so hard it hurts, and this drama is so, so long. But if you can roll with that you'll enjoy this drama. However, the last moment of drama was real weird. After everything that happened Min Kyung Chae sees Eun Hee Soo (who has already died) and Hee Soo says something like, "It's my dream to become vice president of a hotel." and they smile at each other. Which is just . . . what?! I felt so random.

There were a few funny and interesting moments, but for the most part I was bored . . . to . . . death. It's great that the two women who were central characters were mature and skilled, but it seems like the writer didn't know how to create engaging drama for them. Also, there seems to be no nuance to how women are written on the show. Either they're hyper-competent, or whiny and useless. The couples didn't feel very romantic, and I never felt that they were anything more than good friends. It was a slog getting through this drama, I was on episode 39 and wanted to quit, and for a completist like me that's saying something. I'd recommend either skipping this drama, or watching it on fast-forward.

I'm only 11 episodes in but I have to say that Goo Do Chi's character is not at all attractive. Hopefully this will change as the series goes on but I find him too immature, too childish, and way too whiny.

Title The Promise Spoiler
The good:
I think that this drama was very entertaining, unlike other 100+ episode dramas I didn’t find it draggy at all. I’m a big fan of Lee Yoo Ri, and even though I had moments of frustration with Lee Na Yeon, I was always on her side, which I think is a testament to her character. I also love Baek Do Hee, I found her to be an incredibly strong presence on the show, even though her time was relatively short. The actress did a great job establishing them both as very different people.

I really enjoyed that unlike other kdrama heroines, Na Yeon was prepared and decisive once she decided to get revenge. It’s frustrating when women are badly written and just kind of flail around, and things seem to get done in spite of their idiocy. But Na Yeon always had a trick up her sleeve, she usually had a plan and executed it well.

The bad:
Like many of these revenge dramas they have a hard, hard time sticking the landing. I found the end pretty unsatisfying. Na Yeon’s father, Jong Won, was the only one who seemed to show true remorse for what he did, and attempt to make amends. Yoo Kyung gets only 3 years for attempted murder?! Se Jin gets amnesia so she doesn’t have to be held accountable for all the dirty deeds she did. Tae Joon magically gets another job after the multiple scandals he had at Baekdo. It’s just weak sauce.

Even though Kang Tae Joon clearly regretted what he did, he was never proactive, everything just happened TO him, he never took any initiative or agency for himself. Even Hwi Kyung, as “nice” as he is, is more of a roadblock than anything else. He keeps trying to talk Na Yeon out of going for revenge—even after he finds out about her daughter!—because it’s “hurting her” but never offers an alternative. Basically asking her to just drop it, because . . . it’s easier to do nothing?

I think the main couple had negative chemistry, I’m not buying the relationship between Hwi Kyung and Na Yeon at all (at least Na Yeon and Tae Joon had moments of tenderness) she spends literally the entire drama until the very last episode uncomfortably pushing him away. She won’t even accept a hug from him, but they’re destined to be happy together at the end?

The hanging:
There are so many plot threads left unexplored, and there’s no excuse for that when a writer has more than a hundred episodes to work with.

1. Doesn’t Lee Yoon Ae say at some point that she isn’t Na Yeon’s birth mother? So, who is and how did Kyung Wan know her?

2. Are we going to completely ignore Oh Man Jung’s part in Sae Byul’s death and use her as comic relief? I would have given this drama higher points if not for her. How is it possible after everything that she did that she can go over to Yang Mal Sook’s house and hang out like nothing happened?! It enrages me just to think about it. What family member in their right mind would roll with something like that?

3. Geum Bong has no concerns or hesitation marrying into a family that played a hand in her niece’s death? I couldn’t look at the character the same way after that. And this is just a personal bias, but I can stand grown women who use baby talk. I couldn’t stop from rolling my eyes every time she and Se Kwang were interacting.

4. We can guess why Park Man Jae would make it difficult for Hwi Kyung to inherit the company’s shares, he wanted to force his son to be tougher and to make sure he earned his place in the company. But there was an indication that they would explain why he married his daughter’s friend, and why he pushed out his sick first wife. Also, he mentioned something about resolving his issues with Yoo Kyung, but that also came to nothing.

5. Joong Dae is in love with Mal Sook, but apparently at the end he owns an office with Na Yeon’s unni and . . . nothing. Why did they even put this in the drama? Why did we follow him on blind dates if it was just going to peter out like this?

I would recommend this drama for people who like Yellow Boots, but warn them that it’s entertaining, but deeply flawed.

It's an awful drama, don't waste your time. There are some elements that had potential, but overall it's not worth it. The ending is horrible, and Guan Pi Pi is the most boring character of any drama I've ever seen.

Title Time to Love
It's a pretty mediocre movie. It had some sweet moments between the leads but I don't think that they were enough to save it. It's not terrible but it will probably leave you with a "meh" feeling.
On Sleepless Society: Two Pillows May 21, 2020
I think that it started out interesting and then went downhill fast. It felt like they forced characters to do things out of character just to make the plot move forward. For example, the lady cop at the end lets an untrained person that she knows is homicidal kill a man right in front of her and and then shoot her. It just felt incredibly unrealistic.

This drama sapped my will to live. Don't waste your time with it, it's not great, and the ending is incomprehensible.
On Only Kiss without Love Feb 19, 2020
This is not a good drama. The story is ridiculous, the characters have sudden attacks of stupid when the story calls for it, and the acting is not great. Also, as many have said, the ending leaves you hanging. I stayed with it for the few cute moments, but overall it was not worth it.
On Love Better Than Immortality Dec 4, 2019
I'm going to try and give this drama a shot, but I watched this actress in Oh, My Emperor and thought that it was horrible. Even if it's mostly the fault of the writing, I'm starting to find her unwatchable. I'm only ten minutes in and Chun Hua is already getting on my nerves. Not a good sign.
