I haven't read any spoilers or the novel, even so, I found it predictable what was going to happen. Bingchang pouring poison into the porridge was seen from miles away. There are many more important moments for the plot that I guessed.

I was hoping this would be the production that would change that, but here we go again lol.

I have been told that their actions have context in the novel but the drama is supposed to be a independent product and as such it should have logic without us having to go through the novel to find answers.

The bracelets make the individuals who wear them unable to separate for seven days (I am not sure about the time, correct me if I am wrong).

There are scenes that are predictable and character actions that are one-dimensional. And we can argue about that. Li Susu's writing has nothing to do with Bai Lu's acting by the way. They are two aspects that should be separated.

Her character is relatively generic, especially in the xianxia world. There is nothing particularly refreshing about her. I was expecting epic characters.... I had high expectations because the source material has complex characters.

Luo Yunxi also. Great actor with bad scripts everywhere. But we can always talk about their good performances regardless of whether theirs characters were poorly written. At least their acting manage to keep me here.

Their relationship is broken. Even if they try to fix it, the cracks will still be there.

Filming ended in 2021. Two years without news.

Then there is no reason for we to continue to make our points if we are going to consider that perfection is not possible in the genre and that tropes are difficult to avoid.

She also has the best written character in TTEOTM.

She has behaviors that have nothing to do with her characterization as an immortal who holds the fate of the world in her hands. I would have liked to see depth in her actions, especially when she is confused as to what she should do. Her actions currently depend on her mood and not on a view of the big picture.

It's a pity because a character with room for characterization and development is being wasted. The way the writers decided to portray her struggles with duty and love seems to have been written by amateurs.

There is not even news on whether the drama got the license or not.

I can't see the resemblance.

It all falls apart when misunderstanding is used as a way to drive the plot, especially when they saw Mingye's dream. She refused not to distrust Tantai Jin without first confirming the reason behind his actions, but it is the first thing she does before deciding to destroy him. And when she realizes that it was a misunderstanding, her love for him returns. The cycle repeats itself over and over again, with no character growth.

The fact that you need to use life as an example proves that you can't take enough points from the drama because I was referring to the realism of her being an immortal with a mission to save the world. An immortal who came back 500 years from the future constantly risking the death of her entire family and history repeating itself. She remembers her mission when it is convenient to the plot.

She reminds me of Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Neither Cheng Du Lin nor Deng Wei are powerful actors like Bai Lu and Luo Yun Xi, there is no point of comparison if they want to take it personal. No character is well written in this drama, Pian Ran may be an exception, so instead of fighting, they should unite and demand good writing.

I find her character is inconsistent like her purpose of existence is to be TJJ's love interest. The suffering of her mission is poorly written, basically it is based on loving TJJ one day and wanting to kill him the next. There is no complexity or realism...

Tantai Jin and Ye Xiwu are only smart when it is convenient for the plot. 90% of the audience hates Ye Bingchan and Minglang but I'm disliking the main characters and their lack of consistency. The antagonists have smart moves, which I find interesting compared to the dumb behaviors of the protagonists.

I could ask the same question saying why the rating in Douban is 6? Among the 27k+ comments there are criticisms though. The drama isn't bad, but I was waiting for a plot that didn't make me guess what was going to happen.
