What feminine emancipation in a patriarchal context, she has not strived for any form of feminine equality or emancipation from the patriarchy, she distanced herself from XJS due to betrayal, while aligning herself with another man in power, ML. So in fact she aligns herself with the patriarchy in ML if thats how you want to put it. Otherwise, if it was true feminine emancipation, the story wouldn't align her with ML. Resilience in the face of adversity is shown for all characters not just her so nothing to do with feminism. Same with complexity of human relationships, importance of personality identity and critique of power structures. All of which are explored through many different characters.
So again, how is the main message showing a woman can be a general when men ruled. If that as the message, we would see people doubting the FL's abilities, thus showing she can rise even when doubted and suppressed by men. But in the series FL is only ever feared and supported by men, No one doubts her abilities. Wei Ran even says we must kill her or she will be big trouble. So no one is doubting a female can be a general no one in the entire show. So how can that be their message, it's already a given and accepted.

There's going to be a rebellion, likely with masked guy, prime minster and empress. ML will then need to counter that rebellion. Also going to see 2ml, in his own plot line likely against his own emperor who wants to strip him of his power. Romance on both fronts.
