I think a lot of people share this feeling and I find the novel's characterization of TSJ a key weakness in the story. Supposedly smartest one around but really seems quite a fool especially when it came to his brother and protecting XY- "fool me once.... shame on you.... fool me twice... or four times... shame on??..." Hence many novel readers preferring XL to him. I wish the author fleshed out TSJ a bit more to showcase his supposed 'brilliance'... I have to applaud the great casting though- this is a really smart production group! We have the actors who've mastered their art (ZWY/YZ); the eye candy (DW) ; and the combo of both (TJC). From XY's perspective, YSQ was attractive- that was the origin of their story when she blushed at his scarred body and he felt "wanted as a man" again. TSJ is XY's happily ever after, but also the one person the author showed XY both loved and lusted - so it made sense to find a super attractive actor who is strong in romance and crying scenes. And DW is all that. He is so green and I think fame always has its darker side I hope he muddles through it all and becomes an even better actor. With his looks - the sky would be the limit.
