I loved Lee Bum Soo in Triangle (seeing him in that role motivated me to start Giant - which I am still watching lol)
Kwon Hae Hyo - I love him in every role he is in ;)
I hate Joo Jin Mo - after watching him in Empress Ki >_< ruined the actor for me.
Thanks for this great article. Out of these actors I really appreciate Lee Bum Soo whom I first saw in History of the Salaryman moving on to Giant and then other dramas. I also admired Joo Jin Mo in Empress Ki and Frozen Flower and I hope to see him in more dramas in the future. I have seen Kwon Hae Hyo in many dramas and always thought he was a great actor. As for the remaining two actors I can't say I know them well enough as yet, I need to see them in more dramas in order to learn to appreciate their acting talents.
'Triangle' is actually one of Lee Beom's Soo's worst performances, some really good scenes aside, so if you already like him there, then you're good. I suggest 'Giant', 'History of the Salaryman' and 'Surgeon Bong Dal Hee' from dramas. For his performance alone, although a very disappointing series due to its final episodes, go for 'Prime Minister and I'.
As for his movies, there are so many of them. I made a short recommendations list on my blog, but off the top of my head, 'Descendants of Hong Gil Dong', 'Lifting King Kong' and 'Au Revoir, UFO' are quite different in what he shows in them. 'Where is Jeong Seung Pil' is also kind of crazy, but the cast and some of the comedy is worth it all.
And I agree about skills and value not being the stuff of leading roles. Ageism is a big problem and not making the star appeal checklist means many wonderful folks are always secondary. They still shine in those roles, some of them even salvage works by being in them. Thankfully, cinema is not as bad as dramas in this aspect (many older actors and actresses still lead there), but I hope it stays that way.
Also, if he is within your covered age range for these pieces, I'd love to see your thoughts on Cheon Ho Jin. Another great guy many surely know and love.

I was hoping to write my first article about her, but you did such a great job, not need to write one anymore. She is my number one favorite actress. I'm actually re-watching Scent of a woman, next it will probably be My lovely Kim San Soon.
summer scent that drama killed me literally in two ways first i cant live without dramas anymore and second even though she is very ill i totally want a love story like that??==??
my first thirty dramas or so i realized i cant rewatch dramas so i didnt but on one rainy day when i couldnt find a new drama to watch i just laid on my bed picked out my tablet and watched on viki Summer Scent again and i loved even more. HER EPIC RINGTONE IS MY RINGTONE SINCE THEN!!!
PS city hall was not very famous and i found it later i didnt know it is kim sun ah but this drama was soooo gooooooood totally LOVED IT
