One of the worst KDrama I have ever watched. It's starts off great, then notsogreat, then really really really bad. You were warned. It makes no bloody sense whatsoever. So stupid. I can't believe I actually finished it.
Well I cannot say was the best drama ever but it wasn't the worst neither. I liked all the flirting between Myung Wol and Kang Woo and the side story of the older spies couple was cute. I wish Major Choi Ryu had more presence in the romance. Sometimes I hated his passivity and distance from her. It would be better if there was some point in the story where she really was persuaded by him and questioned seriously which one to choose. From my view, always was clear she would finish with Kang Woo. As for Joo In Ah, I am glad in this drama this kind of character didn't end being as hateful and annoying as secondary female roles in other dramas. I quite liked her transformation from someone obsessed with a one side love to a more mature woman that worries and care for a guy who is more conscious about her existence. Overall I enjoyed the drama but I think the story could be told in less episodes without dragging for so long the painful situation between the main couple.
How does this have such a high rating? It was pretty bad. I thought it was a spy parody. The fight scenes were hilariously bad along with the special effects. And what was with that random car explosion at the end? Yea because cars just explode when they crash. And they didn't even explain where Choi and Myung were for a year. So stupid.
I like the drama..the storyline to be precise. But I have to say Ahn Jae Hyun and Ku Hye Sun are both doing a bad job in the acting department. I thought the latter had improved because she did good in Angel Eyes but she is back to square one in this. It's really sad and disappointing. As for Ahn Jae Hyun, he is gorgeous but he is so bad. This is only the 2nd time I am watching him (first being My Love From The Star and he hardly have any scenes in that drama so didn't quite get to see much of him there). But in Blood, I find him really wooden and stiff. It's quite uncomfortable and embarrassing to watch at times. However, I still think he is gorgeous lol and his profile (face, height) fits the vampire role perfectly. After this drama wraps up I hope he takes some time off and goes in for some serious acting lessons. Having said that I still am enjoying the drama. Taking a break from makjangs once in a while is good for my heart and brains lol. I can still forgive AJH because he is still very new to the industry, wth is wrong with Ku Hye Sun though?! I am really disappointed in her this time. And I am one of the few people who actually liked her (Rosie knows) lol. Not her fan as such but neither her anti. It's just that she tries to do too many things. I hope she just focuses on acting and work on improving that first. Anywho this is just my opinion about the two leads. I hope their fans don't come charging at me lol. Remember I am a fan of AJH's beauty too lol. I love my models (again, Rosie knows) lol.
EDIT: I am only upto ep. 7 by the way. I read this article a few weeks back where the Blood reps had mentioned her acting would improve in the latter episodes so looking forward to seeing that improvement.
I totally feel the same about Ji Jin Hee! I wonder who came up with the stereotype of villains and their classy tastes.
I have just finished episode 11 and I have to say that the drama is slowly improving. I can totally see where negative reviews are coming from though. Both Ahn Jae Hyun and Gu Hye Sun both stiff and awkward at times. I think this awkwardness and their acting fits with the characters. Two arrogant, cold heated characters are warming (each other's) hearts. At least that's how it appeals to me. I think the biggest irritation I feel with Blood is slow it actually is (to me). It seems like the last two - three episodes have been about the same thing, just scripted differently. That might just be me though, I don't know. All I know is after episode 11 I can see everything starting to pick up and become more interesting and exciting. I'm looking forward to how everything unfolds.
If anything the drama has really cute promotional posters and an adorable pervy robot! I also hope that Park Ji Sang can have a different hairstyle (or maybe just part the hair?). I think some of his 'stiff' acting may be contributed to his eyebrows being covered up all the time? I'm not too sure, lol.
Thank you for the article! It gave me so much to think and ramble on about.
thank you for this great article. i love vampire themed things, but i decided not give this drama a watch. i saw bad reviews, but i don't decide on watching or not watching because of that, i decide based on plot and if im in the middle, i go for reviews then as a deciding factor.. this was a case like that, plot, read from the synopsis, didn't seem interesting to me at all, but it's a vampire drama!! so i read reviews and decided on not watching..
your article made me want to give this drama a chance after all. thank you very much for that! :D
I really don't know why people are hating so much this drama, actually this is a really good drama! The story are improving in each episode, now my mom and I are totally addicted in it. Hope some people can give a try for this drama and stop to listen the bad comments.
This drama is not bad, but it's not good either, I don't understand how people are so "addicted" to it.. And I'm not saying this like "omg, you're all stupid for liking this" because I'm watching it and enjoying it, but I'm not addicted in anyyy way and there are dramas that are waaaaaay better than this xDD
Either way, I was really disappointed in the first episodes and my interest started around 7/8 and from then on it has gotten better, both acting and story! I don't understand the hate on the actors because it's just liked you said, Jae Hyeon is doing a very decent job for his experience (maybe he shouldn't have taken such a serious role with so little experience? yeah, well, maybe, but who cares...) and Hye Sun is definitly not the best actress out there, but I don't hate her and I think it's ridiculous that people praise other actresses that literally suck or have been stuck on the same roles all their careers and have so much hate for Hye Sun, like...double standards much?
Either way I think more people should be like you and judge from themselves and watch the drama and decide if they like it or not...
And everything you said that was "wrong" (the clothes, the music, the wine) is pretty much everything I think too, so, amazing article!!
I started watching it unplanned but it was the storyline that made me interested in it. I just like the vampire-themed dramas I guess. I don't understand the negative comments about the drama either, especially on the acting part. I mean, AJH and GHS may not be the best in acting but I don't think they are ruining the drama to the extent that it becomes un-watchable. In fact, I am even become quite a fan of AJH in this drama.
For all the negative comments, there sure are a lot of people watching it. I like to wait to marathon my dramas, so I haven't started yet. I'll give it a try. I actually liked Goo Hye Sun in Angel Eyes, so I'm ready to give her a chance here too.
