yaaa I think it maybe needed less episodes.. cuz it rlly is an amazing plot I just don’t think they knew what to do with the rest of the time in the show bc a lot was resolved before the last 3 - 4 episodes
V.I.Ps: They literally added nothing. 😭 Like, I get the point of them—showing the rich enjoying these games…
-Guard 011 in the first game in Season 2 was harsh in terms of killing people who were twitching during the freeze game and just didn’t really seem to care about taking out “losers,” as she said. So I was surprised when she was risking her own life to save him. -What I’m saying is I wish the detective was written to be a bit suspicious of him or had listened to his friend when he was suggesting something was off about the Captain – because it just made him look silly to see no signs for 2 seasons and made it uninteresting during those parts. I wish the detective was actually the one to discover the truth about the Captain. -And again I wish Gi-hun was written to have had a plan to take down the Squid Games or had worked with a team – because why would someone enter back into deadly games with no real power or clue as to how to end it? He would just end up getting killed along with 500 other people…? I’m not mad he died – I just wish he died having contributed to the games ending.
the casting is a bit off but nothing deal breaking. the younger actors, don’t match the older actors both in…
I also find the difference in Jinyoung character quite drastic. cuz u can see miji character change and develop from when she was going through a hard time to her usual self again. but Jinyoung younger version is just cold and quiet and the older version is just completely different with no real growth shown in the series . but it’s easy to overlook
I still need to collect my thoughts on this drama, so I may come back and expand. It started strong. Every scene…
Yes!! That’s exactly how I felt! I thought it was so interesting during the part where the romance was just starting and the twins were living each other’s lives. But once that changed, I started losing interest, lol. The only thing that stood out after that was the Rosa storyline — it was really well written! Buuut then I felt like it started getting a bit repetitive towards the end. Still, I thought they wrapped it up nicely.
The main issue for me was that this season focused a lot of things that were unnecessary or didn’t make sense.…
V.I.Ps: They literally added nothing. 😭 Like, I get the point of them—showing the rich enjoying these games while poorer people suffer—but… them talking throughout every game completely took me out of it, especially because they were just narrating what the audience was already seeing. And the way they were written?? Omg…
Detective Hwang: They should’ve written him to be suspicious of the Captain too. It just makes him look silly—whenever he suggests somewhere to go, the Captain says, “Oh no, too dangerous,” etc., and he never catches on. 😭 Also, they spent way too long on that boat with him staring at the map… like, the investigation should have lasted longer with him slowly uncovering more and more. I don’t know—it just got kind of repetitive.
Soldier 11: Her randomly risking her life felt really out of nowhere. I know she’s doing it for the little girl, but she was harsh and uncaring in Season 2, and then suddenly she’s risking everything to get this man off the island? There was no build-up to that change at all.
Gi-hun dying: I’m not mad that they killed him off (I do wish he had survived with the baby, but oh well). I just wish he had died being the one who actually ended the games. They only got caught because of Detective Hwang and Player 246, who got saved and called the cops. Gi-hun went back into the games with no real plan and didn’t actually manage to change much.
I guess but if it’s more of a spin off? but they were planning to make a sequel to the first season so it only makes sense that’s what this is. there was different lives in the first season so maybe this is a different life version of that character
