I also thought he might have actually done something 'bad', he deserves to be blamed for and seeing that he was merely a bystander in a string of unfortunate events made me roll my eyes, but now that I think about it, maybe this passive involvement or as he sees it his "bad aura" is the issue. He just thinks he brings people around him misfortune , I mean he had enough reason to do so seeing how his parents and granddad had left him. And with his funding job, all he wanted to do is be helpful to others and yet two people he was directly involved with and close to like family, ended up being doomed, even leading to death. I think this superstitious belief of his is the deep anchored angst his therapist once mentioned and his reasoning why he takes up all the blame. I think the drama could have shed more light upon that psychological aspect.
They all be missing out..Do Hyeok, Han Ji Pyeong, we take them all xD Shelter for the good boys xD
Yeah, true I actually enjoyed start-up more for its business theme than the romances going on, also liked the relationship b/w HJP and the grandma more than any of the romantic relationships xD
Pretty good review I hope your review gets more exposure. I would only argue with your conclusion on the ending,…
A lot of things were off in the last ep: as you've stated the fast paced romantic progress, the sudden irrelevance of Do-hyeuk, the sudden departure of Park Jae-Eon (wtf was that about?) the hasty acknowledgement of her prof and Nabi's own content with her academic path solely based on Park Jae eons exaggerated compliment..."hello Paris". So. Off. As for them hitting it off, AGAIN, that didn't seem too sudden to me. Even though Nabi verbally pushed him away, she was actually yearning for him, as her multiples monologues give away, only waiting for an excuse to be with him, with that excuse being his 'love confession' or whatever through that drawing. I don't think adding more episodes could have changed anything, because the rekindling of their romance is just so messed up. I do get your point that an ending accentuating how we should own up to our own actions and decisions and bear the responsibility would have been a nice stance, but this ain't the story for it. The whole "I know you're a f*ckboy, but I still want to be with you" felt masochistic and the mellow background tunes and lighting and everything romanticising the whole setup was just disturbing and so off from reality, catapulting us straight back into a kdrama from 2010. Also, they should have put more emphasis on park jeo Eon's character development if they intended to make him a good guy; there is no real explanation to why he is being like this (not that playboys need reasons for), but his whole obsession with Nabi(s) and his sudden romantic, earnest feelings were left unexplored and unexplained. In the end it doesn't even seem like Nabi is acknowledging his feelings, because she was going on about how he is the wrong choice but the right one for her, not really talking about how this fling has actually turned into love or has it even? I was so lost at the end xD that's why the whole ending was unfit, as in incoherent and inconsistent...a more mature approach like your suggestion without this whole romanticising-element would have been nice, such a pity this started off so great. I don't even know why I'm typing all this xD. Just wanted to thank you for your feedback and the thoughtful input: so, thanks!
Somewhere I feel the stalker is going to be ML's friend, the doctor. But I will be happy if I'll be wrong.
Mind revealing the stalker? I watched it up to ep. 8, didn't feel like continuing, but curious about the stalker...also had that doctor friend in mind xD
Skipped a lot of it, too boring in the beginning and imo the FL is annoying. It has gotten a bit more interesting…
I like the fl, for me it's that hotshot prof/defender/murder investigator/judge - basically superman, whom I find a bit tiring to watch, but yeah I also do skip a lot xD didn't skip anything in the last two episodes though, so really curious about the next episodes
Am I the only one who thinks it was nicely wrapped up? Honestly, I never even saw any chemistry between HJP and SDM, I just naturally wanted him to succeed because I wanted him at least once to not receive the shorter end. But he is actually fine xD I mean we were kind of tricked into perceiving him as this pitiful, lonely, good natured boy with a harsh past, but he is a charming, successful businessman and as he pointed out to Dalmi, he not even once tried to contact her after the letter exchange. I do believe that he really liked her but after ep 16 I'm not even sure if he actually loved her xD maybe he just wanted to belong to her as in her family, be truly accepted as a member of the seo family and I think grandma's plead or rather her wakening call that he is already part of it, always has been and will be, was the actual 'success' he needed all along , and let's be real the greatest chemistry to be found in this drama was between HJP and halmoni, so no SDM needed xD also I liked the little extras in ep 16, how he gets to know the incarnation of the comforting voice and the funny moments with his junior park dong chun and his awkward, cute reconciliation with Nam Do San. Well the drama isn't perfect for its dragging parts in the second half, the lack of character portrayal of some side characters (isn't it funny how Alex just vanished xD) and SDM lacking emotions, but overall I enjoyed the business theme, the relationship between the characters, the OST and the visuaaaals... So 8.5/10 for me
I mean the plot and characters ain't bad, but I can't appreciate any of it because I'm so hurt thinking bout HJP ? it's like, I see a NDS and Dalmi scene and find myself thinking that they actually are cute together, then I see a scene where the start up companies meticulously work on a project, shedding their sweat to make it work, and again I find myself appreciating this refreshing entrepreneurship-theme, buuuuut then appears HJP, sensitive, perceptive, gentle, understanding, truthful and straightforward, loyal and trustworthy, clearly not appreciated enough, hurt and devastated by his 'defeat' , and yet, the selfless and virtuous character he is, even leading NDS to his 'victory' ??? and I end up hating this drama to guts ? and correct me if I'm wrong, but is it hinted in the preview for tomorrow's episode, that he might actually leave? Leave?! Leave to where? Make the writer of this 'Neverending sorrows of a Good Boy - an one man tragedy' leave. So done.
mentioned and his reasoning why he takes up all the blame. I think the drama could have shed more light upon that psychological aspect.
