I'm curious, what Thai forum site is that?
If I told you, it won't gonna help as it is all in Thai. But if you translate Thai comments in the highlights of this series in youtube, you might see the similar comment that I pointed out.

I actually grew up watching thai lakorn so I can see the similarity that you have pointed out as well. Mek acting…
I've listen in an interview which I'm not sure from what source and I saw P'Jojo twitter. He said it was purposedly to be a Lakorn, not a series, and would feature middle-to-senior actors and actresses. GMMTV didn't approve the first draft, but they gave a condition that, if P'Jojo wanted this series to move forward, he had had to cast GMMTV actors, so he casted GMMTV actors in all 8 main cast and the project got green light as a series. However, he still designed all actings to be in Lakorn style, so that's why all actors need to overact. I won't blame Mek bacause his acting was also designed by the acting coaches of the series to be like this in the first place.

GMMTV 2021 plan was to expand target audience inside the country to enhance the ratings, that's why they green light many Lakorn (Nabi, Mr. Lipstick, An Eye For An Eye, Irresistable, F4 Thailand and the upcoming The War of Flowers and Drag, I Love You) or Lakorn-like series (46 days and The Player). Nevertheless, the plan failed miserably, All of them weren't doing well in ratings or trends, even Thai Lakorn webboard didn't like it. Instead, BL series and GMMTV-old-style series (Oh My Boss) got better reception. So in 2022, they decrease Lakorn and Lakorn-like series and shift its focus back to old-style-series like BL, School thriller and life drama.

This drama is based on the novel of the same name. For everyone who have problem with casting Jane in this drama, in the novel, Cake is 20 years younger than Ton and Ton is at the same age as her mom, so don't worry, they cast the right person.

Title The Eclipse Spoiler
Can someone give me a summary or detailed what this drama is about?
Based on the novel, it's about the crash between Conservatism and Liberalism in school.

Akk (First) is a leader of Truant patrols/Student inspectors, who like to keep the rules to protect the power and prestiges he have. As time goes by, students start to questioning the history of the school, the importance of school's traditions and old rules, which affected his position. However, when students start to protest, the curse of the school is awaken, which is related to the upcoming total eclipse. Ayan or Aye (Khaotung) is a new student at the school, who appear everywhere the curse event is happening. Teacher Sani, a new teacher who supervise the student inspectors, doesn't believe that it was the curse, but rather a plan of someone, so she order Akk and his closefriends to investigate. The more Akk dig deeper into Aye's live, the more Akk in love with Aye.

The novel is a political investigative drama, written by Prapt, who wrote Kahon Maha Ratuek. The novel was inspired by student protest and the new political movement in Thailand. The novel shares the same universe to The Miracle of Teddy Bear, which is written by the same writer, but because the series is produced by different TV channels, so there won't be on-screen crossover.

Well, I have to say that the review from this website is different from Thai webboard.
This show was tend to be a Lakorn (Drama), not a series at the first place. So the plot, the acting style and the music are going to be different from normal series.
Most of Thai actors are still separate the way they acting in Drama and Series. For series, they acting naturally, but in drama they need to exaggerate the acting, as most Thai Lakorn watchers still like the over-acting style.
In thai board, they praised Namtarn, her acting suits Thai drama style better than series in my opinion. Jane is also praised too, as her playing suits the drama. Tay is also mentioned in a good way, because his character resembles much of Thai police.
The major differences is that, they praised Mek's acting, because Thai Lakorn watchers aren't correctly recognize LGBTQ+ roles that much, so they think his acting is excellent.
The one that got complained is Kapook. Thai webboard said that her acting aren't exaggerated enough, made her role feel less energetic than other cast.
Joss, Chimon and Foei are actors mostly overlook by reviews on Thai webboard.
Now you see the differences.
In my opinion, if I watch this show by using series quality to review, this show is mediocre. But if I watch this show by using Lakorn quality to review, this show is exellent.
