Totally agree with this comment, they're dragging the kiss to never seen before extent and it's getting frustrating…
I agree that it is hard to define middle. For me, I define from 2 criteria; 1) setting and 2) promotional tactics. Both series from my criteria are consider as cutesy type from their settings and promotional tactics.

About the figure you've got:
First, the figure you've got is from 1993 or 1998 research which I've seen before. The group of Thai people I've said is mostly related to middle and upper class (define by salary), as these are the groups marketing in for TV series.
Second, I wouldn't trust any researches done by my country's university that much. Recently, there are scandals related to university researches and surveys which affects my beliefs in my country's researches system a lot.

You are right. In Thailand, physical intimacy is still complicated.
The kissing scenes are more related to TV censorship rules. If this BL airs after 10PM (GMT+7) (aka Late Night) on TV. That won't be a problem. For some reason, TV censorship department are still heavily cencored series with LGBTQ+ romance that aired on primetime. I see it as a very outdated practice in my country, but Thai people can't do much with the government anyway. KinnPorsche and Love In The Air were both late-night shows, so they had no problem adding intimacy scenes.
My answer to why there is no middle ground is that they represent 2 different fantasies of Thai watchers. The cutesy BL type represents Thai people's fantasy about their high school/university romance they wish they had, but they didn't because the inappropriateness society views. The opposite represents the sexual experiences they wish they had but didn't, because Thai society still views sex in a negative way and it oppressed people. Most of the middle ones are the realistic series, which in my experience didn't work well with Thai audiences.

My country usually does that (and my country is Thailand), as many school teachers (and sometimes students) still think that romance in high school is inappropriate. I didn't like this old tradition thing either when I was in high school, and I think it is over now, but I asked my nephew who is in high school, and he said that it's still enforced in some clubs that aim to make reputation for the school.

This has been my favorite series airing, but after that episode I'm not sure I'll even bother to finish it.What…
I understand and I respect your opinion, but I also kinda disagree with how you view our society in the lens you look with other countries' society.
Maybe it's my country's problem to explain the way our culture works to international audiences.

As Thai people, it's not normal for high schoolers to engage in physical intimacy. It's even not normal for high schoolers to have a date. With our society concept and our consent age (which is 20), A lot of Thai people still view the romance of high schoolers in real life as forbidden and scandalous. Also, physical intimacy is a really big thing for Thai people. There are a lot of them who still practice the concept of no intimacy before being engaged or married. For me, the way the series portrays the struggle to kiss is real. I and my first partner (which I had in my freshman year) took 5 months for us to have our first kiss. Yes, currently there are changes to the Thai people's mindset regarding these old rules, but they are still not much, especially outside Bangkok.

On the other hand, high school romances are really popular in Thailand because they show the fantasy of what we want to do/have (a supportive relationship/ a cute romance) in our high school years but can't because of our society's rules. For short, Thai television series mostly represent Thai viewers' fantasies and not the real world. This also apply to the reason why Thai series that depicts realistic society (like The Miracle of Teddy Bear, the ultimate favorite of mine that really depicts LGBTQ+ and other social issues, with a strong and interesting plot)are mostly unsuccessful commercially. Thai society is really complicated and what Thai people think and act are usually not coincide with each other.

For Sound-Win dialouges, I think I understand the problem with it. However, I also understand why it's working with Thai audiences. The issue is that Thai has a lot of subtext that cannot be translated into the subtitle, and that causes a lot of international audiences to have issues with how unnatural some of the series' dialogue sounds. I won't blame it on any party because this is more of a language barrier issue than a translating issue.

I do agree with you on two things: Yak is annoying, and Gemini has a great voice.

it was supposed to be 10 ep, and now is 12.. ofcourse they added scenes
As one of the article's contributor, when any series started and we still don't know how many episodes it had, we listed it as 10 episodes to open the episode guide section for review purpose (and also for each users to add the number of episodes they've watched in MyWatchlist).

Yes, it is produced directly by One31, but using several GMMTV crews, including the director, P'Kaew.
Nope
both One31 and GMMTV are all under The One Enterprise, which is a major media company in Thailand.
GMM Grammy (which is a music company) holds major stakes in The One Enterprise.

Article Upcoming GMMTV Thai Shows Spoiler
Sorry for my poor English.Thank you for the article.Additional Information : For Home School. Prim isn't part…
For my own opinion for 2023 lineup overall, it looks uninteresting. A lot of remakes is not a great thing because these remakes rarely work in domestic market, especially the ones that the original versions are available to be streamed. A lot of pilots that based from the novel missed to represent the highlight of the series, I hope they won't miss these points in the series. The main cast are too clustered, left a lot of talented secondary actors out of projects in this year. (I don't understand why GMMTV still like to choose actors from outside the company instead of the signed ones, because from the statistics, GMMTV series featured GMMTV actors as main casts tend to be more successful both domestic and international market).

Sorry for my poor English.
Thank you for the article.
Additional Information : For Home School. Prim isn't part of the cast anymore. She's replaced by View Benyapa. [However, from some news source, Prigkhing is the one who step up to take Prim's role and View is actually played Prigkhing's former role]. Indy Thanathat also joins the main cast.

As Thai watchers, what really missing from the article is co-production companies and directors of each series. These details are important because they help watchers decided how much they can expected from the series. GMMTV is actually not porducing series by itself. It hires these co-production companies to work for it. Each team is different in terms of style and quality. Pilot with interesting plot and great cast may turn into a very disappointed series if it gets bad co-production.

Outside of my posted eagerness for Only Friends, I have to say that I'm equally as excited for Hidden Agenda and…
Actually, what worried watchers the most is not the plot, it's the production team. Cooking Crush is made under the same production team of Fish Upon The Sky and Cupid's Last Wish and the screenwriting team is the same as Enchante. All 3 series received mix-to-negative reception (especially from domestic market) and the last 2 are big flops, which enraged a lot of fans because both series had high potential to be successful.

wait, when it's been said that Nuchy will take part in the script? please share with me the source.
I think we need to wait until the pre-shooting ritual ceremony on January 12 (As Dr. Pat, the writer, has announced on his twitter). At that day the full crew will appear.

Where will it be available? Will we international fans have a chance of watching this?
It will be on GMMTV youtube channel.
Only Thai people have to watch the series from Disney+Hotstar.

Title Never Let Me Go Spoiler
As Jojo said, he wanted to tribute to the EXACT (currently One31) dramas in late 90's-early 2000's, which at that…
EXACT is the name of the company.
EXACT drama is a formula of Thai dramas, which is centered around dispute in Thai-Chinese wealthy family and a romance between class difference (actually it has more checkpoints than that), this type of dramas are catagorized as family drama, not action.
Compare between KinnPorche and this series. KinnPorche is NOT a contribute to EXACT dramas. Even though the series has the similar setting, the focus of the series are more about action and business. While in Never Let Me Go, you would see the plot is more centralized and the story are mostly focused on family drama, similar to EXACT drama troupe I said previously. Nevertheless, I do think that this topic is more like what Thai watchers would noticed only, as we grew up seeing this style of dramas, and foreign watchers would not realized it. (Well, this series focuses on Thai watchers anyway).
However, I do have a different opinion to you about Homage and copy, but it's not important to the context of what we are talking right now.

EXACT dramas aren't bad (my experience as Thai watchers for 25+ years, this troupe of dramas is far from what clarified as bad), it's the dramas Thai people enjoyed. It's rooted from obsession in Hong Kong TV series in the 80's. These kind of dramas are still popular amoung many generations of Thai watchers. Having mafia/Thai-Chinese family dispute aren't qualify as contribute to EXACT dramas, it has more checkpoint than that.

Title Never Let Me Go Spoiler
I was cackling like a madman when they spent all that time talking about his father and then he showed up all…
As Jojo said, he wanted to tribute to the EXACT (currently One31) dramas in late 90's-early 2000's, which at that time, the dramas from EXACT are really formulatic, romance between a young rich (usually under 18) and a poor bodyguard with heavy family drama related to a Thai-Chinese family-business culture, so it's gonna be a lot of cliches to come from the perspective of Thai watchers (but I still like it anyway because I grew up with this type of dramas),
Perth actually replaced Aou, he hadn't joined GMMTV yet when the casting was announced. Aou was recasted to another series and Backaof want to introduce Perth-Chimon as a couple, so the script was changed according to his order. (Perth and Chimon will starring in Dangerous Romance next year). Other supporting casts were also changed, Pawin replaced Prom and Fluke Pisith replaced Aun (as the shooting schedule of this series was swapped with The Warp Effect and the new shooting schedule overlapped with My School President, which started earlier than its proposed)
