Mixed feelings. It gives me Blacklist vibes and that's not a good thing since Blacklist's plot was a mess and…
I had already said that it will give us Blacklist vibes in the previous comments. But I think it won't have the same problem Blacklist had.
Blacklist is actually based on a set of novel that contains 8 books, each book focuses on different members of Blacklist, their loveline and case. Although it is set in the same school and the same gang, the storyline of the first 7 is not interconnect to each other, only the final book (which is a special book) is. Blacklist screenwriters, instead of combined storylines of 8 books together, decided to use only some characters and their characteristics and put it in a totally different story (The God Hand's gang, the school's struggle of power, etc). I personally don't like Dan Worrawech (Blacklist's director) works because his faithfulness to the original sources in every series he directed is so low (Blacklist use less than 10% of the novel) and he has problems on storytelling.
As I watched The Eclipse first episode, it is around 75% similar to the novel. From the twitter space held by the team yesterday, the screenwriter said that he didn't change much from the novel, both storyline and characteristics.
Can't wait for this 🙌 Is this really 10 ep? if so...that awesome....i don't like long series....it drags
It is definitely longer than 10, but the MDL system will label it as 10 episodes if it has no detail how much the episodes would be yet. My guest is that this has 18 episodes.
Is Lee ML or not? Who's the FL?.. I see so many hot boys and girls here lol.
According to the writer, It's an ensemble cast series, so it has multiple lead characters. But in the novel, Pitch (Lee) is the ML and Meen (Janhae) is the FL, but all 6 female chatacters in the flower gang, including Palana (Jamie) and Prae (Praewa) have more parts in the series compare to the male characters.
As the one who have read the novel, I've to say that the second trailer better suits the series. The novel genre…
@7532925 It because the production swapped in the later than the other parts.
According to Yokee, the producer, the project starts months prior the involvement of the production. They were called in by Backaof to join the project only a month before GMMTV 2022 and they have only that time to both writing, shooting and producing the pilot trailer. At the same time, the production was working on pre-production of 609 Bedtime Story (which that one is supernatural-fantasy BL), so the team didn't have much time to study the novel and use the synopsis to write the script of the pilot trailer, which the book synopsis is kinda misleading as to lure reader to read it, as normally Prapt's novels are either fantasy or crime investigative.
If you check out the new quote on the poster and the new synopsis in Thai media, it's updated to be more resemble to the novel.
If you want supernatural-investigative theme BL, you should wait to check out 609 Bedtime Story, done by the same production team. I heard the series will be premiere on WeTV soon.

@CristyCrystallll As I say, political-investigative and coming-of-age drama.Hint-The Eclipse's curse is not supernatural things, but it is a folktale that someone uses to plan something behind. The eclipse symbolise something and the curse symbolise one of the socio-political tools.- Akk and Ayan represent 2 side of politics bipolarity, conservative and liberal.- The socio-political commentary in each episode of the book is different, I see 2 already, one from the pilot and one from the official trailer. For me, the novel is a high school version of Not Me + a BL version of Blacklist.
I think this episode is a lot better than the previous one due to changes in the episode's editing and pacing. I know the unsimilar acting and a bit lack on the story can't be change, but the better editing helps a lot.
Correct me if I am wrong but the first teaser trailer hinted more supernatural and time loop trope where else…
As the one who have read the novel, I've to say that the second trailer better suits the series. The novel genre is political-investigative and coming-of-age drama. The first trailer though is amazing in storytelling, mislead a lot of viewers to think about genre and stories of this series. If you expect a mystery, it will be and a big one. If you expect social commentary, it will be. But if you expect supernatural or fantasy, sorry, this is not for you.
Is it just me or does this second trailer really seem reasonably softened compared to the previous one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuOnQ5jmy1s
I think the same, but actually this trailer is more resembles to the book than the previous one. The main plotline of the book, even though revolves around the mystery of the eclipse, no one take it as supernatural occurences, but more like a plan that has someone behind it. (Similar to Blacklist). As the story progress, it reveals what the tales of the eclipse curse is resembles to a socio-political tool that is currently use in the society. The novel is written in TV series style, which each episode follows around 1 center theme related to politics and/or social commentaries. However, I find the trailer only show 1 of the theme that use in episode 3 or 4, but not the epic theme one. The thing I worry the most is about lessen (or rid off) the mystery from the storyline to increase the lovelines, because recent GMMTV BL series (Enchante and Vice Versa) has done this mistake and I don't want it to happen on this series. Hoping that a behind-the-scenes special will help me see more of directions and storylines.
The Eclipse has been confirmed via Viu membership email that it will follow Sky in Your Heart. The tentative released date was on July 29, but since there are Star & Sky Special episode, the new date will be announced soon (but still on Friday).

As Good Old Days will be premiere on Disney+Hotstar first before its TV debut on GMM25, which is yet to be announced.
