Sorry, it's confidential. I saw it as because one of my friends is working in several productions this year and he showed me the detail of each series' budget. When I saw the detail of The Eclipse buget, I kinda shock that it is really low. However, most of GMMTV popular series this year, such as Not Me and P.S. I Hate You, were affected from budget cuts and low sponsorship. Each production teams have to find their own solutions to make the series to happen.
His character, Sound, is a well-known teen musician. So yeah, most of my nephew's high school friends whom a musician also have a very unique hair cut and color. Mostly it's reflect their musical personality though.
Actually, Sound's characteristic is completely different from the pilot (which in it, his characteristic is similar to the book), changing from the rival of Tinn as he has a hit on Gun to be a rival of Gun, as he thinks he is more appropriate to be the band leader instead. I think it is because the series change the second couple.
I am the one who on the premiere event of the series. My short preview will be on my reply.
I think it's a great adaptation and I'm glad the team receives the budget and time as they should. (Because The Eclipse, the latest series the team has working on, is the lowest budget of all GMMTV BL this year, till the point that the production team have to do post-production by themselves). I think the acting and cinematography is great. The editing isn't choppy (well, they have money to hire a post-production team this time). However, the story has a faster pacing compare to the book and a lot of concept has been changed in a good way.
For the one who afraid that the plot is similar to Triage, it isn't. There is no time travelling here but there is another plot device you will see in the second episode.

And from the information I received as now, there are only 2 series that will premiere in the later months, none of them are BLs. If the production can be done fast enough, one BL of GMMTV will premiere in December.
For anyone who want to know what series will follow The Eclipse; There won't be any new series. The rerun of Magic of Zero will take place, followed by a rerun of GMMTV concerts/fanmeets held in this year.
For replacing after Bad Buddy rerun will be a competition show callled Project Alpha.
My take on this series As I've read the book, the series choose an interesting way to adopt from the novel. To make it clear, I like to compare between Prapt's 2 BL novels and series, The Miracle of Teddy Bear, which is a CH3 drama, and The Eclipse that made by GMMTV. The Miracle of Teddy Bear chose to de-emphasize the main couple romance story from the novel and take more focus on main and supporting characters' storylines. The Eclipse takes the opposite way, as it emphasize more on the main couple storyline and less focus on supporting characters (2 have been completely cut from the series). However, both series still contain social issues and all of the main points from the novel. As there are many production factors involve with the series (such as bugget cut, low sponsorship and schedule shift), the production team have done best on what they have. These factors affected a lot on casting, screenwriting and production. Sure, I don't like several paths the scripts take, but I understand why they do that. Anyway, the ending is better than how the book wrote (which has a lot of cliffhangers).
For the 7 main cast, I think Backaof (whom Yokee said was the one who cast all 7 principal casts) have done a terrific job. Not only they fits the characters from the novel nearly 100%, but they all portrays the character really well. First and Khaotung is already great from previous series and in this series they've done better (at least in my opinion). Neo and Louis are the one that exceeds my expectation. This series shows that they can play complex characters and emotions. AJ, Pawin and Ployphach are all done fantastic job on their roles. I think for Ployphach the first series she plays the character that has growth during the course of the storyline. I hope that GMMTV will appreciate their talents and advocate them to more advance in their acting career. For other supporting cast, the teachers are fine for me, but the other students, they all can barely act, even the three protestors.
The production of this series is great despite its small budget. The cinematography is smart, as it helps solving a lot of production issues in some scenes, yet can also make it consistent with the atmosphere of the scene. The editing is kinda choppy, but at least it make sense.
Overall, I think this series is not the best, but definitely not the worse. It has more upsides than downsides and I appreciate the team (which is their first series produced) has a spirit enough to finish it.
But from the first episode, I don't think it's the same as the series.
