I just had a look at Qiao's ratings for the 400+ shows/films they've watched, judging my the many 5/10 or less scores including 1 and 1.5 for shows 40'000 + viewers rated 8.8 etc. I think they dislike 75% of them.
Gotta be honest I tend to rate high 7 is my lowest 8 is average a 9 higher and it's great from me. If I was to rate a show 1 out of 10, I don't know what that would look like, maybe the cast sitting there for 6 hours watching paint dry, then the last ten minutes they turn to the camera and insult me by name (how ? who knows) etc.

And what little I've read about Jpop, Kpop etc it's basically a stable of 15-17 year old that are told to sleep with this old man and you get a break which never materialises and then there blackmailed to do it again as it was filmed, and apparently most of isn't consensual. Am not sure how true it is but i've came across the odd story from ex-idol saying it was common practice. Makes you think just how much more is hidden under Hollywood not as if it won't happen there too.
