My guess is ; His dad left him with grandmother ever since birth and his older son was with himself helping him in his business. until he found his older son is gay,, he threw him out of the house and took Zhan wang back from grandmother to raise him as his next successor. But zhan wang never wanted this, he was captivated and not able to reach out to grandma anymore because his dad might have already cut all his ties with his grandma before. that's how His grandma only knows him and was close to him only.

The more i watch this drama the more I fall for the characters.. zhan wang doing everything for his Xu yuan for free and Xu yuan is welcoming everything he does. I love this. In all of the dramas its always like - One lead is spending his money and their ego starts hurting and the other lead starts hating and cringe fighting... I hate those tropes the most,thankfully this one is completely different from those, xu yuan's ego is never hurt because of money he doesn't return gifts or rejects Zhan wang's help ever..
Maybe the 2nd leads can't act or maybe their screenwriting is extreme poor... how I wish there were no 2nd leads in this drama.. The main leads are ace actors in this😭
