Review after watching: Review is subjective to my own thoughts.

This drama is not for the faint of hearts. I made me feel so helpless and dead inside. I really wanted to love this drama like everyone else does. Everyone else is raving about this drama and so I really really wanted to fall in love with it too.
But, I can't.
These people really messed the girl up. So so bad. I felt like jumping off of a bridge whenever I tried to think from being in the girl's shoes. They messed her up so bad. The lead dude plays her so so bad, just to get to her mother.
Just to get to her mother, he watches her get GANG BEATEN UP and DOES NOT HELP, he hires a girl to become friends with her and 'take her in', via this girl he keeps up to date with EVERY thing the girl does, he even cuts off her communication with the outside world by TOTALLY playing with her emails and putting himself as someone she really trusts who lives in the US! Now every time she emails her friend she is emailing him! and the real friend? he is emailing that girl he hired! Then he makes her work at his 'fiance's' restaurant just to get treated like trash! He leads her to the farm house where everyone was affected by her mother as well, and she gets treated hopelessly there as well!
This girl gets beaten up, put down, slapped, thrown water on, constantly just because her mother did wrong.
And when this guy starts falling for her? He is STILL a jerk! STILL! He treats her like trash, STILL!
I've never sworn while watching a drama so much! I felt like I was suffocating for the female lead.
Speaking of the female lead? SHE IS SUCH AN IDIOT.
I love her, but she is SO forgiving I wanted to be able to breathe underwater and just vanish from this dry land! I was literally begging thin air for her to at least HIT the dude when she found out he was such a jerk!
But no! She still forgives him like an idiot-- and he still acts like a jerk.
I loved the OST, and Sean is an amazing guy.
I just wish this drama didn't make me feel so dead and furious in my chest. That's all.
I was on a 'put it aside after a few episodes' roll. Before this I'd dropped dramas like Goblin, Legend of the Blue Sea, etc — but this drama ... I didn't even know when I had crossed the 10 episode mark ! It was that good!
The chemistry was great. The romance was great. I do admit that it went a little sour after Episode 15 because of the second female lead and the big emphasis on Yu Xi's ex boyfriend (WHO I ABSOLUTELY LOVE — THE ACTOR) .. I cried so hard when he died. Even though he was a piece of crap. I don't know... I just couldn't stop myself. I loved the ending though — so perfect! MUST WATCH GUYS!
I may turn 80, have wrinkles and a dozen grey hairs I'd like to vanish-- but I'll never stop loving this drama. So many laughs, tears, and so much of heart is invested in this classic. The OST Farewell Without Farewell : 10/10
