What actually caused generation after generation of homicide was simply the pioneer ancestor's greed. The pioneer ancestor did not fulfill the oath until his old age when he got ill. This greed to live and continue earning money made him kill the wrongfully imprisoned slave just to cure himself of his chronic ailment.
His next generation's son (ML, first life) fell in love with the FL because of her beauty, until he made her fall in love with him and married her, despite the fact that he already had a legal wife back at home. This caused the first wife and her family to strategize using the oath to sacrifice the FL. Which, although the ML did not agree with it, still it led to the death of the heartbroken FL when she found out of this sudden requirement and killed herself.
Then the ML's son ended up getting a slave as a mistress in his old age because of his lust, and his wife then had the slave mistress killed due to her jealously by slapping it with the "fulfilling oath to the goddess" tag on it as well.
Because of greed and evil intentions, three lives were lost to this family. Three lives turned into ghosts and then took their vengeance by killing the family members.
So you see, it was never the oath or a goddess, but the greed and selfish deeds of humans.
SUMMARY OF FIRST LIFE: The FL was the daughter of the undertaker in the olden times. Her family consisted of her father, mother, and older sister Sai. Her older sister was a practitioner of black magic.
The ML was born to the pioneer ancestor who arrived from China and was the first to make the oath in order to stop the ship from getting ruined in a storm on his way to Thailand
The ML fell in love with the FL because of her beauty. Then wooed her, seduced her, and married her. Despite the fact that he had a legal wife already back home. A first wife who he also didn't seem to hate by the looks of him hugging her, etc.
Then when the FL found out about the first wife, despite crying the stupid girl stayed with him because of love. To the point that she agreed to go to the city home to live as a slave second wife of the ML and endure torture every day by the people of the legal first wife. She even got caned and arrested.
Because the first wife was actually evil and the one with bad intentions, together with her family they decided to use the "oath" to their advantage in order to get rid of the FL. The first wife decided to make her newborn "sick" and then have the shaman say that the family needed to sacrifice the secondary wife of the ML in order to appease the goddess and spare the life of the son.
The ML was unwilling, but he did not voice it out quick enough and by the time did, two male slaves were already sent out to capture the FL in the name of the ML and have her sacrificed.
The FL who had endured months of torture and humiliation had just found out about this situation, and gotten almost kidnapped was heartbroken beyond measure. She took the help of her older sister to turn her into a ghost after she killed herself so that she could take her revenge on everyone who hurt her.
That night, the FL, stood atop of a boat and danced her final dance, before stabbing her neck with a pikul flower hair jewelry she had been gifted on her wedding day by the ML.
After her death, ML was distraught and left his first wife to move into the house in FL's village. The true colours of people were also slowly revealed and the ML officially separated from the first wife after discovering that she was the mastermind behind the entire thing.
The FL's ghost killed the mother and father of the first wife, as well as other people surrounding the ML. The ML continued to love her until his very last breath.
VERY SHORT SUMMARY OF FUTURE STORY
After that, with the assistance of the male slave that was sacrificed before her, as well as the maid mistress sacrificed after her, she exerted revenge on the family for the next 100 years until it came to the ML (second life)'s grandfather, who together with a monk stopped them and kept them neutralized inside the boathouse.
Then one day because of the greed of the ML's mother (who was FL's sister in the past life) the boathouse gets opened and the ghosts are able to leave again.
In the future life, the first wife is actually ML's youngest aunt lmao, and she has always been sickly. This is why when the ghosts get out, the FL decides to first send the other two assistant ghosts to haunt the family, and then acts as a witch doctor and approaches the family and gets close to them.
She even makes them worship "Nang Hong" which is basically her ghost name. This keeps her strong and powerful and she uses this power to terrorize the MLs family even more.
Eventually, at the end, of course, the FL can't kill the ML cause she still loves her husband (and he has the face now), so redemption occurs and she and the two ghost assistants pass on.
The ML decides to become a monk. I don't know if this is a temporary thing or something that's permanent.

They helped the ghost go back home. Also, even though this was an arranged marriage, her husband stuck by her through all the nonsense and carried her place to place just to help solve her problem.
