I know Ga Ram died in the car accident but it wasn't really explained what happened apart from the cop bought…
Your question is actually really smart. I scrolled through so many discussions about the movie and barely anyone brought up Ga Ram’s death. Which is wild, because I think there’s so much to unpack there.
To me, it does seem like a suicidal act. Just think about his last phone call with Su Min: Ga Ram was clearly on the verge of tears. He brought up their old plan to drive around the city together, but that now he hasd to go alone. And then, out of nowhere, he confesses his love, even though he knows Su Min is with Jae Min! Like why would he do that? Doesn't it feel like someone saying what they needed to say before letting go?
It’s almost like the film leaves it ambiguous on purpose, but with these clues, I can’t shake the feeling that it was suicide… :(
well I don't know what that was. The hype around this was crazy so I guess I put my expectations too high but…
Hey from 2 year later:)
I totally get why you’d feel that way, it’s a lot to unpack. I gotta say that I actually just watched it a few days ago and ended up rewatching it four times with different subtitles (both in English and Persian, the languages I know), and then read the whole comment section, and NOW it makes 100/100 sense to me.
If you ever revisit it, I hope it clicks for you too. Or you could ask about it in more detail here. Hearing others’ perspectives is always surprising✓
It was a shock that he decided to murder his lover just because he ignored him in front of his fiance and parents…
Hey friend. Here's how I see it:
Right when Su Min finally decided to trust Jae Min and quit his job as a prostitute to be faithful to him, he discovered Jae Min had a girlfriend and was about to get married. Then, when he tried to confront him about it, he learned that his young friend from the gay bar (the one who reminded him of someone special from the orphanage) had died tragically. So, in a short time, he lost everything: his job (and his means to support his dreams), the person he loved, and a dear friend.
I think the other friend from the gay bar (the one who went with him to kill Jae Min) took advantage of Su Min’s emotional state. He was exactly the type of person who would do anything for money, especially after losing all of his somehow. Remember how even Madame (the bar manager) warned Su Min not to trust him? So, I think he’s the one who manipulated Su Min’s grief and rage and convinced him that they could escape their desperate lives by stealing his money and killing him to cover it up.

Hello PercyIsHere. I very much appreciate your message. Your words encourage me to continue reviewing the series…
I can't believe we don’t have to pay to be friends with such an amazing film critic like you:) Plus we seem to have similar tastes, and well that’s just everythingTT
If possible, I’d love to know how I could gain access to your journals.
Are you an author or something? I'd really enjoy hearing you discuss all the films I've watched TT I bet you get this a lot, but keep sharing your comments please.
