I suspect that if WX was the one giving hugs, it would be ok. Just my theory.

Zhu Yan is his true name, Zhao Yuan Zhou given by someone else but he prefers it, Ying Long is his ancestor name or something, not clear yet. Zhu Yan, Wen Xiao and Zhou Yi Chen are the most important characters IMO. About the ending, majority suspect it will be sad because of the director's past work and the promotion materials like trailer and MVs.

I wonder if CDL is Ao Ying here, or a new character?

It has been setting up to that for several eps now. First, we have that conversation between WX and LL, and then the revelation of LL has been helping the demon-haters the whole time and then the confrontation with YC in the latest ep.

Agree, they're officially already a couple in ep 23, the contract just prevent them from expressing their love freely.

I don't know if it was because of ZYC looking young or something, ZYZ and WX behaved like his parents in this ep. LOL

LL might be an old demon but he is not mature. ZYZ said as much in ep 23
