Most the human characters in this drama except the main squad are either nameless victims or jerks/short-sighted in someway.

Princess Youngy tells him about the scale. And to be frank the original purpose of the Goddess Power is a check-and-balance against the demon because they're so powerful, not about fairness. Only some of the goddess like the original goddesses and WX feel some sympathy for the demons and choose to have a demon companion to bring more fairness to the demons. The drama also glossed over the reason for the need of a goddess in first place: the powerful demons in the wildness wreck everything up.
