Nah, I don't think so. Like MTZ's therapist said, his amnesia was the symptom of his unhealthy devotion to acting and the lack of any personal identity or "anchor". Being literally "selfless", so to speak. It's the same character flaw of the Grand Tutor in the fake drama which directly lead to the sad ending for his romance with the princess. I think initially he will push the FL to the SML like he did in the fake drama, but he will eventually go off-script and learned to live for himself, being more "selfish" and pursue the FL. Wanting to be her man, not her teacher or protector. And then, he will wake up "cured" with the love the FL became his "anchor", complete character arc.
I'm surprised they didn't half-ass the costume drama portion. The acting, the set and the costume, even the OST are good. And it had legit fight scenes too. I think it's a wise decision. It helps the audience empathizing with Mu Yun and his love for the princess before the accident happed. Otherwise, some may find the ML annoying since he is essentially interrupting FL's life with his mental condition.
Okay, this has a good start, I even invested in the costume drama they were filming. Funny thought, if the main leads became a real CP in real life, it would be so meta on so many level. LOL.

YT has rejected JJ. JJ was hurt and as an dignified lady, she will not chase him again. Narratively speaking, the only way to move the plot is for YT to change his mind and pursuit her. And the process is crucial, not something unnecessary, "nice to see" like you said. Because if it is too quick and half ass, it will ruin YT's characters and cast doubts on YT and JJ's relationship. If you feel frustrated because the lack of JJ's presence, that's also how YT feel. After a month being with her, he came back to his dream job again, but he wasn't entirely happy like before, there was something, someone, missing. Gu Man's writing is brilliant honestly.
10 years earlier, JJ wanted to befriend YT with her official QQ account (Twinkle one), but he ignored her. Then, JJ pretended to be a member of an astronomy forum which YT also a member of. YT accept her friend request this time, but didn't know it was an alternative account of JJ. In the present time, YT might still think that she was just a random person who love astronomy years ago, not JJ, so he was confused. This plot point was addressed in ep 17-18 tonight I guess.
