The next two final episodes will surely surprise you
@vasolina It's important to note that the series is adapted from the Korean novel. While they certainly captured the novel's core themesโ€”questions like "Is human experimentation permissible for any purpose?" and "Is it truly justifiable to sacrifice a few to save many?"โ€”constantly linger in the reader's mindโ€”they altered the events, and logically, the story takes a different turn.
For example, in the novel: A man in his twenties kidnaps two disabled people and informs the police of their location. A journalist is also called to the scene. Upon arrival, the journalist and the police witness a strange scene.
In the first-floor restroom of the building, two disabled people, victims of kidnapping, were lying down after surgery. The man in his twenties who had operated on them claimed to have completely cured them. He demanded that the case be reported to a journalist. Arrested on the spot and charged with kidnapping, he made incoherent statements during his detention.
In the very first scenes of the series, we see the prosecutor go to get LWG.

Yes, I know, and my answer was so clear above that people were right. It isnโ€™t about those pretty eyes; you have to carefully follow the context of the scenario. The focus is no longer solely on the trials and medical treatments, but also on dismantling the power network involving prosecutors, the police, politicians, and even hospital elites. LGW isn't a killer by instinct; FL's dad is practically responsible.

The proof is that she played her role incredibly well, thanks to a skill that you can't find in any other actress, old or new. It's like she was the embodiment of evil walking the earth; what she did was AMAZING, also it's due to the casting, which isn't always straightforward in other K-dramas

I haven't seen an episode as bleak and tragic as the opening of the Korean series "The Murky Stream" in…
In the historical Kdrama "The Murky Stream," the characters are divided into classes, each subservient to a higher-ranking person: the hard-working slave is subservient to a highwayman, the highwayman is subservient to a highwayman's leader, the latter to a royal officer, and the latter to a higher-ranking royal figure.
Amidst this subservience, the upper classes live in luxury, which the lower classes feed on until the luxury ends before it reaches the last class, which wallows in the dust.
Between the classes, there is not only subservience; there is silver at the top and rice at the bottom. Silver was once a symbol of wealth and economic power stemming from trade in Asia, while rice was a symbol of life and survival, as it was the sole food source at the time. The upper classes monopolized silver to increase their wealth, while the lower classes harvested rice to survive and maintain the hierarchy. The irony here is that the lower class doesn't appreciate the value of silver as much as they appreciate the importance of rice for livelihood. Had it not been for their belief in rice, silver would not have been monopolized by the upper classes, and this hierarchy would not have been established in the first place. It would have disappeared, and everyone on earth would have been equal.

The same idea applies when you wake up tomorrow and go to work, subject to your meager salary. Corrupt companies, institutions, and lobbies would not have gained power.

I haven't seen an episode as bleak and tragic as the opening of the Korean series "The Murky Stream" in a while.
Although the writer and director of the episode intended to lighten the premise with a comedic element through the participation of a renowned actor (Park Ji-hwan), he was unable to contain the somewhat excessive gloom surrounding the story, which uses poverty as a weapon to humiliate the human self. Slavery is met with a handful of rice; if rice is absent, life is absent.
Squashed faces, bent backs, emaciated physiques, tattered clothing, and the heavy weight of the goods that must be carried to provide for the day.
The tragedy continues because slavery isn't even a choice. "Giving my body to be destroyed for a handful of rice" is a "luxury" that is denied you when you aren't chosen for this honor. If you aren't chosen, death chooses you. It's just an episode that I don't think will be repeated in the following chapters of the story, considering that it is a romantic historical work in its beginnings, but the episode I will remember in the future because it somehow surrounded in a gloomy but ideal way the dilemma that caused poverty in ancient times and continues to this day, only times change, clothes and features change and you may no longer need your arms to carry heavy goods, but you will suffer, or someone or several people somewhere who form an entire ocean that capitalist systems raided...the spoils are theirs and the handful of rice is yours, that is if you are lucky.

For those who can't stand ML in "ahjjuma" mode, you need to meditate and reflect before acting to reach a dignified conclusion!
They showed us a star in the prime of her life, soaring like an eagle above everyone.
She possesses a strength of character; nothing can shake her. She's very beautiful and charming.
For this star to fall so brutally, she has to be released 25 years later, in very, very bad Fashion, in a disgusting manner

what to say??one of the rare kdrama that deserves to be rated 20/20 a series that we hope does not end 16 episodes of 30 minutes is very very little each of us behaves like a screenwriter so we allow ourselves to imagine other horizons of this masterpiece Trauma !! darkness !!! but there were 4 seconds of comedy and we let ourselves dream of a relationship between ML and FL which deepens even if a happy ending
