Okay so I'm usually really into sad/open endings but this wasn't it imo. Given the theme of this drama, it was…
Same! That scene with Seungwan had me second guessing. Even when Yijin now as an anchor wanted to remove question #5 from the list and mentioning Heedo doesn’t like personal questions and made the staff shocked. At the back of my head I was thinking Yijin is trying to shield “his wife” from the hot seat. Lol!
Actors Kim Nam Hee (mobile phone store owner and doing a Kwon Sang Woo hermit crab hat parody) and Kang Hoon (Yijin’s younger brother - older version) cameos were a pleasant surprise.
I am just salty that we didn’t see whom Heedo has married and Min Chae’s dad. But I think they made the right call not to reveal or else he will be heavily bashed by the 2125 fandom.
Nevertheless, I was prepared for this ending. I was one of those who are leaning towards a bittersweet ending following the trajectory. I enjoyed the journey watching it. It has a tinge of regret and nostalgia that I feel when I look back on my own youthful days.
So i was snooping over k-youtube for this drama's reviews and comments and it seems just like us they have accepted…
Really? There is no disappointment for expecting disappointment. Lol! I am prepared for any ending as long as they tie loose ends properly, my questions answered and no glaring plotholes. I love this show and will rate objectively depending on the ending with those considerations I listed above. I am watching it again after Ep16 airs.
I think BJY and NHD help inspire each other’s dreams and the way that that unfolds means that they can’t end up together but that their love isn’t any less important. It could be, even though it seems that she married (if not BYJ) or not, and has a child (Min Chae), the drama celebrates those loves that came before (friendship and passion) and that they’re just as important as the love you have now. It’s about how important each person is in your journey in wherever you’re going.
“I know that Min Chae is reading my diary. I’ve decided to let her. My diary from those days is filled w/just love & friendship. A time when friendship & love were all that mattered in life. A time like that lasts only a moment. I hope Min Chae experiences such passion as well. A rowdy friendship and passionate love. Because those brief moments are what make your long life shine.” -Na Hee Do, 2021
cutting them off sounds harsh. It's far more likely they just lost touch over the years as they got busy with…
I understand that part since I myself and my high school buddies aren’t that closed anymore like we used to. But I still know them, and we are still following each other on social media.
But my point is, if we are rooting for a Baekdo ending, why is it only applicable to Yijin? Why not the others be present, too? Why the difference?
You all guys are behaving as if the show ended and above questions you asked were unanswered 😂. All your questions…
I raised this question because it doesn’t make sense to me if Baek Yijin is very much present in Hee Do and Min Chae’s life in 2021, why are there no signs of their other friends yet, even subtly. Remember Min Chae even asked her grandma about them as if she really didn’t know any of them. And by the narration it’s as if Hee Do never talked about her friends to Min Chae.
I keep getting a feeling that the drama might pull off a La La Land kind of ending.
Did Hee Do stop communicating with her other friends all these time? If Min Chae did not recognize her own father (if it’s really Baek Yijin since he could look different), then where did Hee Do’s other friends go? Seungwan, Ji Woong, Yurim, at least? It doesn’t make sense that Hee Do would also cut them off of her life in the last 15 years and Min Chae doesn’t even know who her mother’s closest friends are. I did not catch any compelling reason yet for them to be out of the picture or Hee Do’s life for the longest time, leaving an impression that Min Chae doesn’t know any of them either.
If Yijin is a Kim before a Baek, why wouldn’t Min Chae recognize the name Yijin since it’s only the family that has changed.
Has anyone seen this interview by the songwriter of 21, 25? What do you think?
Title track “25, 21” deals with the topic of youth with a delicate approach. Yet, it’s not about the optimistic hope for youth. Instead of telling a tender lover story, Kim Yuna who wrote this song wanted to tell a story that didn’t overlook the harsh and bitter reality.
“Around the cherry blossoms days, as I was going home after taking my kid to the kindergarten bus, I saw the petals falling on the ground. The melody and the lyrics came to me at once. I called the guys up right away and we recorded the song. I had a lot on my mind at that time. These thoughts that I had before, I don’t have them today. It’s like the cherry blossoms we see several years, but they’re different each time.” (Kim Yuna)
People are crazy about this drama. Look at this theory I found in twitter https://twitter.com/xtinasarrival/status/1507099694870286336?s=21&t=RQpGY4GX8jjxd1Bb_aKkMg
Sounds like an “Alice” kind of plot. Hilarious theory.
Same here! I enjoyed the journey overall.
