How do you know it’s overrated after 1EP?
Oh wow another one monitoring my responses 🙄 You're infamous for insulting people too in different dramas. I didn't know I needed to walk on egg shells when giving a positive comment on dramas I like. I didn't know MDL had that unspoken rule. 🤣 Seems like you all are SWARMING like vultures to anyone who responds to your remarks. Go be a martyr for the anti-fans of dramas. 🙄

Right. People like YOU responding to my original comment for SOMEONE ELSE and I'M the one starting this drama? 🙄 How has being enthusiastic about Lovely Runner become so irritating and bothersome to you all who hate it? I don't even bother camping and dropping hate comments on pages of Kdramas that I dislike yet here you are putting all your time and effort to do just that 🤣 Does seeing positive comments on Lovely Runner make you literally sick?

And you haters don't post essays in your responses? Yeah the hypocrisy of you haters as well demanding "respect" and answering for people yet when being demanded for the same thing get all defensive and gaslight people. Why does expressing praise for this drama bother you all so much? Are you all literally gonna die if people give praise or positive feedback about dramas you abhor? 🙄

How do you know it’s overrated after 1EP?
Me throwing tantrums? Me stirring up trouble? Me being disrespectful? Do you even hear yourself? Based on your remarks alone I can deduce that you're an expert gaslighter and how experienced you are at being rude and insulting here on MDL. Given how out of touch you are with yourself and your disrespectful nature, let me reiterate: I was merely responding to your rude response to my comment to the original poster. And if we're gonna be talking about someone to whom I don't owe any explanation at all it's clearly YOU because my original response was clearly meant for someone else. But you were clearly bothered by my enthusiasm for this drama because why the heck would you even care to answer my comment that was obviously not meant for you in the first place? 🤣 You're clearly a terrible person in real life because everything you say reeks of toxicity which makes MDL already an unsafe place to discuss Kdramas in a healthy way. No, it's not being able to accept criticism that I'm pointing out. It's people like you who mock and needlessly ridicule and insult people who love dramas you hate. And the way you act all superior and condescending to give a facade that you're unbothered by people who call you out makes you so pathetic. 🤣 It's honestly sad that you really waste time and effort to monitor the pages of dramas you abhor to refute positive opinions in order to desperately prove how superior your tastes are compared to others you deem inferior merely because they don't share your preferences. It's amusing that people like you who waste their time posting hate comments on dramas they find unworthy exist. More than 10 years ago, MDL wasn't like this at all. I'm surprised at how toxic it has become. It was once a safe place where people could enjoy and comment on dramas they loved until venom like you came along. It's also honestly funny that because you love picking trivial fights with people, it seems you're getting confused about who said what and to whom you're supposed to respond. 🤣

I'll revert your statement to you as well. Since you and other people here made the effort to put comments about how overrated and horrible the show is, then naturally you would encounter people who actually love it countering your statements because you're on this page. That is just fair, isn't it? You also have to respect our opinions and move on with your lives because not many people will agree with YOUR opinion that Lovely Runner is mid or undeserving of its popularity and success. It's hypocritical and insane that you mock or ridicule fans of this drama-even going so far as accusing us of displaying "toxic positivity"-just because you disagree with our opinions yet refuse to be responded to in the same way. Do you also refuse to accept the fact that other people may love a drama that you hate? Hilarious that you demand respect regarding your opinions yet you do the opposite to the audience who feels differently.

How do you know it’s overrated after 1EP?
I put in on hold after episode 1 for weeks too because it seemed boring, superficial and cringe especially when we see Sol acting like an obsessed super fan of Eclipse. Romcom is not my go-to genre and I dislike KPop so it was hard to get into it initially. But I picked it up again because I dislike leaving Kdramas unfinished unless they're really horrid. I suffer through boring, corny episodes just to see an immensely satisfying ending as in the case with Vincenzo. I was surprised by how amazing and unforgettable Lovely Runner turned out to be. I mean you can't really tell the quality of a drama by like, the first episode alone 🤣 Too bad you're missing out on a deeply moving love story. Haters may say anything they want but this drama is one of those stories that convey selfless love and destiny convincingly. It is a very well-done show, one of the best Romance Kdramas in recent years I'd say. I love it as much as I love CLOY-even more to be honest. You shouldn't base your impression on the first episode because the whole "girly" stan thing is only a very miniscule part and it's actually set aside after episode 2. But of course it's your choice. If you're set on hating it from the beginning anyway, you'll look for every single flaw like some people.

Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
How is the rating of a romantic fantasy an insult to a psychological mystery, thriller like mouse? How a person…
In what way do you find Lovely Runner vague or confusing? I believe it was clear from the start that Sol was given three chances through the watch after Sun Jae’s death in the original timeline. Then, in the college timeline, she was given another set of three chances when he died the second time, which she used to reset everything back to when Sun Jae first met her, with the intention of erasing herself from his life. Her goal remained consistent throughout: keep Sun Jae alive. Regarding the drama’s high ratings, it was due to many viewers enjoying the story, and for me, the love story was the main draw. Others may have enjoyed the actors’ chemistry or the OST. While your preferences might not align with the majority, that doesn’t invalidate the drama’s quality or success especially considering its international recognition. It also doesn’t undermine people’s individual tastes. We all perceive and appreciate things differently when watching a show.

Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
Why did she go back the 3rd time? Was Seon Jae killed when the man attacked him in the hotel room?
Sun Jae didn’t technically die, but he was in a critical state in the ICU, hanging between life and death. What drove Sol to return to the past once again from the 2023 timeline was the realization that she was the true cause of his deaths. This newfound understanding completely shifted her motivation. In her mind, the only way to resolve everything was to push Sun Jae away so he wouldn't feel the need to save her if the killer came after her again. Sol's mission in that timeline was to apprehend the villain, but she was determined to do so without putting Sun Jae in danger once more.

i think i almost died watching the last ep the scene in the hospital with is grandmother like????? it’s too…
That was a very emotional scene. I cried in that part and the scene also where the ML found his mom in the attic after that wicked witch imprisoned her for the umpteenth time. His grandpa kicking out the witch and her children felt so satisfying.

Just try watching a few episodes first and see how you go. This show is highly rated and so well-loved for a reason.

Guys I’m on ep 9 and that love triangule between mom and ahjumma is getting so annoying… When does it stops…
This part was what turned me off and it took me 13 episodes to finally get into it when the girl got out of the way when she fell for the ML. I really struggled to get past through this odd and cringey love triangle.

On Twinkling Watermelon Mar 10, 2025
Personally this isn't one I would consider my favorite but I understand why a lot of people love it. Twinkling Watermelon makes you reflect a lot on your love and appreciation for your family, about striking a balance between family and finding your own happiness and about gratitude to your parents who raised you with love amidst their own struggles. The ML is one of my favorite lead characters in Kdrama. He was such a good son. Whenever he got all protective mode with his dad and the dad got all freaked out, I got emotional.

every woman's delulu fantasy about dating their idol.
Funny, the false premise of an idol falling for a fan was what made me stay away from the drama for a long time since it concluded last April. Thank goodness that wasn't the case here because the story is so much more than that 😂

There's something off about using the same comparison scale between two dramas under different genres 😂 Do you look for the qualities like chemistry between two main characters in a purely romantic show as you would in a psychological thriller about a story mainly focused on criminals? Really?

Lovely Runner is a story about love against all odds, about destined people. It's a romantic comedy. For its genre, the drama truly delivered more than what was expected and that's why it is such a hit. Fangirl Verdict explained it well. The show may appear like any other romcom but it has a very special quality that makes it stand out. Personally I never thought I would remotely like it prior to watching it but the drama left me enamored by the last episode. It's been months since I finished it and I still find it very hard to move on. You just can't compare the impact Lovely Runner has to dramas like Mouse. Just accept the fact that this show deeply touched a lot of people unlike the dramas you prefer.

Because the drama is quintessentially just a rom-com, a very feel good funny destined lovers rom-com, people who…
I've seen this show but dropped it because it bored me to death and the acting needed a lot of improvement except for the ML's. Maybe LR took inspiration from some elements. LR is still so much better though in terms of storyline and the actors.
