You summed it up for me. That's why my first Chinese drama happened to be the Untamed and Kdramas are my staples and my go to. The Chinese dramas I have watched so far don't even round up to my ten fingers.

This is news to me but recasting new actors destroys the characters and the story as a whole although the new actors are good. A great example is ever night, a Chinese drama where the lead was replaced and other supporting characters. The project went downhill. So keeping old actors from the first season keeps the essence of the story and the characters.

Me too I haven't found any show at per with penthouse. I think I'm missing the madness in it 😂

But thanks to his role in Ashes of Love as Run Yu, fans were able to see Chu Wanning in him hence the fan casting for HYX. About the physical appearance, I wouldn't say I know what phoenix eyes and calculating eyes look like because that depends on how the actor portrays the character in much more depth other than physically but Luo Yunxi is the embodiment of Chu Wanning through and through. None can take this role other than him which isn't the case with Moran because people had conflicting opinions about the role with different actors.
