It's definitely a SLOW burn, but I personally enjoy dramas like this more. It's more realistic, and despite the…
Sorry girl, but I’m honestly on the verge of dropping this it’s painfully boring. The ML has the personality of cardboard, and the FL has been stuck on the same three expressions since the start. When the industry has actresses like Bai Lu and Li Qin, this just feels really weak in comparison.
I did push through a few more episodes because of your comment (so thanks for that!), but it still feels like torture. I genuinely don’t get how it’s rated so highly. I’ve watched plenty of C-dramas, and this one is definitely below par. I may go back to this if I can !
I’m currently on episode 18 and honestly… I don’t quite get the hype yet.
I went in expecting a proper enemies-to-lovers dynamic, but so far it just feels like a forced marriage trope with very little emotional tension or progression. The relationship feels more restrained than compelling, and I’m struggling to connect with the romance.
Maybe I’m missing something, or maybe it’s a slow-burn that pays off later but right now, an 8.9 rating feels a bit too high based on what I’ve seen.
For those who’ve watched further: does it get significantly better from here? Is the payoff worth continuing, or does it stay in the same tone?
I went into Can This Love Be Translated? expecting something emotionally rich, and visually it absolutely delivered. The cinematography was stunning, the cast was beautiful, and every frame felt thoughtfully crafted. There’s a certain softness and aesthetic charm to the drama that makes it easy to get pulled in at first.
However, as the story progressed, it started to lose its grip. The narrative felt scattered, with several loose ends that were never fully explored or resolved. By the end, it left me feeling a bit disconnected like the emotional payoff didn’t quite match the build up.
It’s definitely a beautifully made drama, and there’s a lot to appreciate in terms of visuals and atmosphere, but the storytelling lacked cohesion, making it an ultimately unsatisfying watch for me.
Our Universe had all the ingredients for a compelling slow-burn romance strong chemistry, emotional tension, and a child character who initially added warmth and depth but it ultimately wastes its potential by shifting too much focus to workplace drama and external conflicts instead of developing the central relationship. What began as intimate and promising turns scattered and emotionally stagnant, with key moments either rushed or underdeveloped, and the once-important child fading into the background. Despite decent performances, the story loses its heart, leaving behind a frustrating sense that a truly beautiful romance was there but never fully realized
It isn't that good in anyway so people don't enjoy it that much.
I think you just hate this show and don’t want to see anything good in it same is my case for DK let’s rest it at that. And if someone has enjoyed watching a show like DK our opinions will never match let’s like what we like
It isn't that good in anyway so people don't enjoy it that much.
DK was a bad show in my opinion too cringe and overacted while this one does not has tried and tested romance cliche storytelling which felt different to me
This I agree that his character lacks emotional depth he is more surface level and that’s not working well but Lomon has a good screen presence a little more depth to the role would have made his presence louder
It isn't that good in anyway so people don't enjoy it that much.
this is so better than the overrated dynamite kiss. I think people look for too much of romance in dramas nowadays, they hate it when there is low amount of Romance and more Situational based storytelling. Anyways, I found it good. I can understand if someone does not. I wouldn’t say it’s great, but at least it’s something new.
I think he’s portrayed as a genuinely decent person who isn’t overly calculative, and he plays that role well. Some people just don’t overthink everything. The female lead, on the other hand, is more calculative and shrewd, and she is that way because she understands how the world works. I don’t know if you don’t find him appealing, but in my opinion, he’s really not that bad.
This is honestly one of the cutest K-dramas I’ve ever watched. Ahn Bo-hyun has long been one of my favorites, and this role suited him perfectly the badass, bully-coded, alpha hero energy was chef’s kiss. He owned it.Lee Joo-bin is an absolute sight for sore eyes. The size difference between them made everything even more adorable, but what I loved most was how natural she felt in the role. She was cute, yes but never in an unnecessary or forced way. She balanced sweetness with maturity beautifully, which made her character so easy to love. The teenager arc was slightly boring, but never unbearable. The pacing stayed tight and engaging. The supporting characters were all likable and added warmth to the story without dragging it down.Overall, this was such a healing, lovable drama with a beautifully matched cast. It’s a solid watch, and I really hope we get more dramas like this simple, heartfelt, and perfectly cast.
Dropping this, it’s too boring, and I’m not able to engage with the leads at all. The side characters are also not contributing much. According to me, all in all it’s bad writing and no chemistry. If someone feels that this should give a try, please comment if you have watched all episodes or have gone further in the show. I will try one more episode, but this has become a torture honestly.Sorry, I hardly comment on someone’s face, but the FL face over Botox, her lips are so distracting. It’s really hard to focus with that blank expression. Similar is the case for ML, his cheeks, so done with fillers or what not, and cakey makeup on his face is such a turn off.I don’t know they could have made this hot and sexy and actually adorable. This was such a good storyline similar to You Are My Destiny, which was such an adorable show. I think the casting is off. They could have hired a cute looking FL instead of someone who looks so so and flat expressions. Similar is a case for ML don’t know what is wrong here.I don’t know. I cannot put my finger on it, but something about this show irked me not to keep going.
I completely agree. It’s become harder and harder to get through the baby talk. I get the whole innocence vibe…
LoL I gave up on this show may pickup later hard drop right now because of the cringe toddler FL let me know if you finish I may watch later basis your review 😂

Agreed, She is a miscast I am specifically watching for the male leads and racing scenes I skip her scenes or watch on mute she is unbearable as the lead there is a difference between someone genuinely cute and someone trying so hard but coming out cringe
