To me, in many respects History 4 was an absurdist comedy as much as anything else, so the gay-to-straight element didn't bother me. It was like slapstick comedy. And the fact that the "straight" one turned out to be less "straight" than he thought is sort of OK with me. I've less and less of a need to demand that everyone else's trajectory of sexual discovery follow my own, in that I had gay feelings already as a four year-old. I crushed on little boys in grade school and even before that.

But that doesn't mean every gay/bi man has such an early understanding of himself as did I. I mean, I stayed in the closet for 30 more years but I KNEW what I was. I find it more and more believable that some men, less to the gay side of the sexual continuum than am I, might be clueless until a certain someone causes an awakening. And even if that's not exactly scientific, it can still make for great drama and comedy.

I loved History 4: transgressive, edgy plot-lines. I liked that the younger brother was a bit creepy and his mom a bit twisted. The problem with her was the script didn't let her BE her twisted self and tried to have it both ways. She was reluctantly twisted. :) I liked the drunk seduction which was not a rape, for god's sake. I liked the one guy being drugged with aphrodisiacs and spending a night in sexual frustration Hell, and the struggle of the bi guy to not take advantage of that. My recollection is that the fujoshi was a funny, appealing, unapologetic lover of the idea of hot men together.

And that show had a couple of HOT sex scenes, beautifully filmed. Especially near the end between the bi guy and the lithe, beautiful gay guy.

For me Naked's biggest problem is its lack of nakedness. Having Delivery Kid tell off Naked Man for not "cherishing" his vegetables was absurd and contrived. And DB has no attributes that explain Naked's crushing on him, I agree.

Agreed! Kondo Shori was well-cast in the naked role. He's funny and charming too. As for the rest...nah. I'll be watching on FF.

I liked History 4: Close To You very much. It's on my top 25 BL list. This show, Naked, isn't working for me. Not nearly enough nakedness, the delivery kid is unappealing, there's no chemistry, and apparently it's going to turn into another cooking show.

Kondo Shori is handsome, hot and funny in this lead role. Unfortunately, the ridiculously contrived plot has already entered the stupidity zone. A vegetable delivery kid tells off a client because he isn't "cherishing" the produce deeply enough for him? lol Yeah, right.

And if Shori isn't going to get naked at least once per episode, is it really worth tuning into this thing.? Wow, how can they stretch out such a nothing plot for 12 episodes? I find the delivery kid totally unappealing as a love interest.

We stil don't know why Shori's character didn't visit his grandma. Maybe that will come out.

Anyway, Shori has a great screeen presence and I love his tall, sleek, athletic frame. That long neck is amazing. He's very cute AND handsome. I hope this leads to much better roles for him. I may keep tuning in to FF for any nude scenes but that's about all this show has to offer me. lol

I can't just sit there and watch for an hour while my finger is itching for the STOP button. You are made of stronger stuff than am I. Even Pond's extreme beauty/handsomeness isn't enough to keep me going. :)

Wow. See, I dump shows pretty quickly when I sense they're garbage and I rarely return to the page so I wouldn't notice that. Question though: What do the admins care about a particular show being rated this way or that? Are they all fangirls with a taste for trash so they buoy up their faves?

I didn't even try vice-versa. I could tell I would hate it; same for Never Let Me Go. And to think, all the first BLs I discovered and loved were Thai when I binge-watched so many after stumbling across this strange land. Now I roll my eyes most of the time reading the synopses of new series. That recent one with "chicken" in its name kept me watching though.

SUCH an impressive flick. This was my fourth watch and I continue to notice and understand things I missed the last three times. And with every layer of the onion I peel away there is more I want to know. I think this was my first Lee Je Hoon movie, way back when, and I remember thinking "wow, who IS that?" It's totally unsurprising he has gone on to become a major star.

As I lose myself in the story and it begins to cast its spell, one unspoken truth builds upon the one before until I feel the weight on my chest like a concrete block. And for some reason I enjoy that kind of a movie-watch.

I'm raising my rating from 9/10 to 9.5/10.

I was very excited after seeing the first two episodes, but it began to go downhill for me sometime during #3. Yes, trope city, after such a great start is hard to take. I thought "wow, this thing is going to end up in my top ten!" Now it's not even going to make my top 25.

She and I banter and message almost every day, so I wouldn't be surprised if she recognized me immediately. But you did so on my first comment back. wtf? lol :)

I'm sure I was ditched for my exchanges last night under the article about the latest K-Pop suicide. The fangirl fandom came at me with fangs. hahaha But I couldn't stand to see all the "RIP," "he's an angel now," "he is a sparkling star now..." blah blah blah all the K-fans put up every two days when one of their idols kills themselves. It's as though the so-called "grieving" is all part of the overall entertainment experience for them.

Thanks for the welcome back, though of course I have no idea what you are talking about. 😉😉😉 I will never understand the MDL logic on certain regulations that are applied sporadically and randomly it seems. I don't know whether to be flattered you recognized my "voice," or a little spooked. :)

Regarding ratings, I just wish people would utilize the entire scale. To me an 8 is a solid B grade so what's the problem? Ugh, the Thai shows. I just tried to watch Our Skyy 2 but couldn't even get thru the first episode. Pond and Phuwin are hotter than ever, looks-wise, but the story and acting from the support level are so bad and tropey and predictable and illogical, I just can't. So I don't.

There are movies on here I have rated 9.5 that have a 6.2 MDL rating, etc. lol I just remind myself I'm among a much, MUCH younger crowd of mostly fangirls here and not to expect logic or deep thinking.

Episode 1:
Wow, Pond just keeps getting better and better looking. Phuwin too.
But I guess I just can't with these Thai BLs anymore for the most part. There's a lack of depth in the story-telling, and something cheesy and predictable and improbable about the plots. Like having a boyfriend who basically ghosts you while you're out of the country for three years, then picks you up at the airport acting like it's all cool and pretending to not know why you're annoyed.

So this will be another Thai T.O.O.T for me, and a drop as well.

How is 8.1/10 a low rating. This show is FAR from a perfect 10. The numbers 1-6 are there for a reason but MDL people seem to think only 7-10 are useable.

How is 8.1/10 considered a "low" rating as some below have claimed? That's a solid "B" on an ABCDF scale which is more than this show deserves. With momentary exceptions, it has gotten more dull and tropey with each episode after #3. MDLers tend to only use the numbers 7-10. What about 1-6? They are there for a reason.

How do you know he has a twin? Where do you get this info? I wonder why they list only one actor as playing that part? Can you imagine having TWO kids that adorably cute? I would spend my whole day squeezing them. lol

The Blueming guys had heat but they also went about doing things that I found interesting. This feels like a cooking show with a cute kid and a gay romance tacked on the side.

It's unsurprising I find watching nice people be nice to also be boring. I hope something horrible happens soon.

I'm finding this series to be extremely boring. I had to force myself to keep watching episode 3. Every time someone starts cooking and they show it like it's a cooking show, I roll my eyes. I can go to the Food Channel for that.

As appealing as Inukai Atsuhiro was in The Man Who Defied the World of BL, I find him dull in this role. And there is zero chemistry for me between what will end up being the MC. Minoru is staring longingly at Yatuka and I'm like..."why?"

The child actor is beyond astoundingly adorable and very talented. He is exceedingly natural in almost everything they ask him to do. I watch his face while other characters are talking and his eyes are going back and forth as they talk, just like a kid watching some adult talk would do. And if not that, then he's off playing with his toys adorably. What a find that little guy is. It will be interesting to see how his career goes as he gets older. I hope the industry doesn't crush him as they like to do in Korea.

I'm a big fan of Jonghyun of SHINee. It's sad and creepy to read all the comments below that sound exactly like the comments written below YouTube videos of Jonghyun when he took his life. Unbelievable. Where is the outrage at the industry that works these kids to death?
Rest In Peace, you are an angel now, you are our star in the sky, etc. All these things were written to Jonghyun almost six years ago. And below the videos of other idols who took their own lives such as
Sully and Goo-Hara and Song Yoo Gong and Cha In Ha and U-Nee and on and on it goes.

Something stinks really bad within the management companies and the toxic fandom of K-Pop. I hope whatever it is gets cleaned up someday but I won't hold my breath.
