Hey, I really appreciate your sharing your perspective. Takes all kinds of us! You may think me a horrible person but I've always been drawn to dark themes, characters, stories full of angst, despair, stress, and uncertainty. What could make for better "drama?" So frankly, toxic relationships, "date rape," emotional abuse, and all that juicy stuff really bring it for me. I don't know why because my personal life is stable and pretty boring in that regards. But I have been like this since I was a kid and I don't feel I have to apologize for it. Some of the greatest books, plays, and poetry beginning centuries ago are filled with just such themes, often to an extreme degree, so there's no Thai BL made that will make me blink an eye. :)

I stumbled across Asian gay cinema, then BL by accident after I ran out of European films, which opened my eyes to the rich wonderland of movies outside Hollywood. (I'm American). I even found some K-Pop I like. But something about these actors/settings/stories speaks to me in a way I'd never encountered. I sobbed through my first few BLs, lol. I felt these young people were experiencing a sexual/emotional awakening I never allowed myself as a closet case at that point in my life, and it wask deeply moving to me. For this very reason I will always have a soft spot for "Love Sick" and its sequel. If you watch it, find the version on Youtube that focuses on the gay leads and cuts out all the peripheral straight stuff. :D I binged BLs and Asian flicks for months beginning about three years ago. It was intense because there were so many completed series to binge.

Over time, I think it was more my watching of Asian cinema than other, higher-quality BLs that pushed me toward demanding more of what I was watching in BL. That, and the fact that Japan, Taiwan, and then Korea started turning out BLs that were ten times better than their Thai counterparts. Sadly, it's gotten to the point that I expect BLs out of Thailand to be terrible, and they usually are now. "Moonlight Chicken" is the only one in the last twelve months or so that hasn't gagged me. Like I said above, the Thais are going to shoot themselves in the foot if they don't watch out, and alienate their BL fanbase by throwing so much garbage their way. It shows a complete lack of respect. They think we're stupid.

I laughed at your comment about not recommending BLs to your friends. hahaha I have told a few people about this new universe I've discovered and I get blank stares. I DO push Korean, Japanese and some Taiwanese movies at them though, and urge them to give them a try because there are hundreds of Asian films superior to anything Hollywood put/puts out. At first I was especially amazed at the technical finesse on display in Asian flicks, even in things like war movies and sci-fi, with amazing special effects as good if not better than Hollywood. I was a totally ignorant American.

Korea and Japan have even made an action/thriller fan of me with Yakuza and spy flicks that are just stunning in their deep characterizations and the out-of-this-world fight scenes. I'm not talking about the China-type stuff with dude flying around in the air in silk dresses; I'm talking about the astoundingly choreographed, gritty, dirty and REAL fight scenes that leave me breathless. When you have 20 guys going at each other for five minutes in an extended one-shot, and you can't see ANY bogus or lame maneuvers, THAT is amazing.

Wow. "Pretty decent?" What I see is what someone else in this thread or another already said: These production companies have trained the BL audience to accept that BLs for some unknown reason, be held to a much lower standard than that against other genres are measured? WHY? Why should that be the case, unless they somehow still make money off even the worst of these POS? They should watch out; it may catch up with them and eventuallly put the Thai BL industry out of business as viewers turn to vastly superior shows out of Korea, Japan and to some extent Taiwan.

Thanks for the offer of a list, but I'm sure I've already tried and dropped everything on it. I make a point of not trashing a show until I've given it a try.

It blows my mind how much $$$ is wasted in Thailand making this kind of awful stuff. How can truly bad, bad productions like this possibly make money for the companies that make them?

I did not expect this to be well-produced and of high quality all the way around.

Would kill to watch this with English subs. The visual was great and I've a feeling the dialogue is hysterically funny.

I liked this a lot. Gritty, sexy, funny, real. Great acting from all. Not thrilled with two or three wildly improbable plot devices but there's so much good stuff here I'll overlook that.

Actually, I'm not engaged and entertained much at all, though I do like the lead actor. And a few seconds of a side view of a dude naked in a chair is hardly "explicit." lol Except maybe by MDL standards. "Explicit" is full-on porn and I have yet to see a BL or Asian movie with actual, explicit sex. It may LOOK explicit and they may be naked but they're not actually doing it with closeups of the old in and out.

Actually, we got about ten seconds of skin in episode 2 and that was a flashback. Something tells me the vast majority of any "skin" is what we've already seen. I predict the final episode will show us the two of them eating naked together. :)

Yes, the lead actor in Naked may be a new favorite. I love his body and his vibe/charisma. Ugh, when the chub got all in his face about not "cherishing" his stupid veggies I thought "look, kid, you're damn lucky to have been cast opposite this stud and you probably even get to see him naked for real during shoots, so shut up already." hahaha

Well, THAT was certainly an uplifting, joyous few gay minutes! lol

What's the point? And I have no intention of attempting a disguise, the fact that you're saying what you're saying makes it obvious that is a waste of time. I'm not going to sneak around here. Plus, I have no idea what you're talking about. :)

Worst aspect of this place is the inconsistency with which its rules of discussion are enforced, and that they don't give warnings, they just go BOOM when some little fangirl whines to an admin. I broke no rules, they just didn't like what I said.
