I think I'll give this drama a shot. I really liked the Sima Yi role in "Three Kingdoms" (2010) although he wasn't the main and showed up only in the latter half of the drama. This time he is the main character so I'll give it a shot.
To be honest, IET novels aren't really my type but his works get translated fast. I finished "Coiling Dragon" and "Stellar Transformation" already; I'm currently reading "The Desolate Era" and "The Nine Cauldrons" and "Swallowed Star" is on hold. The plots for most of his novels are always the same; the MC starts in a rich well-background family in a backwater area, the MC's home gets destroyed; he gets stronger and gets revenge on his enemy; later, the MC goes into space...and eventually becomes the best of the best in the end.
I like stuff written by Er Gen. I finished "I Shall Seal the Heavens"; there's ups and downs for this novel. "A Will Eternal" is really, really good so far, there's no boring parts as of yet. "Renegade Immortal" (Xian Ni) started pretty good but then, it got all complicated and boring. "Beseech the Devil"...it had a different type of MCs from the other types of Xianxia/Xuanhuan novels, he is a person of unknown origin and raised in a barbarian tribe.
My favorite one getting translated right now are "Emperor's Domination", "Library of Heaven's Path", and "A Will Eternal". The other novels that I read are kind of crappy but these three are really good.
I usually read the Xianxia or XuanHuan genre. When it came to gaming genres, I'm kind of meh. In the past, I also caught up to the translation and kind of got bored of it.
