Loving this show so far, and Joo Jong Hyuk is finally a lead! I’m a sucker for the corrupt rich jerks getting conned out of their money and losing, plus a strong and competent female character.
The Hash storyline was really upsetting and anxiety inducing- hate to see animals suffer. That guy is seriously a psychopath. Wish I could have beaten him myself. The ex wife makes me sick too.
Glad that Hyo Min reconciled with her mom, and it was nice to see her mom’s side of the situation.
Not enough of the second couple- the writers seem to have abandoned them after they got together.
Loved that the kiss was talked about immediately instead of dragging it out like they do in other shows. The slow build between the leads from contempt to admiration to love is so good so far, and the cooking scenes are still entertaining. I just wish we saw less of the Consort because it’s the same nonsense with her scenes that is getting tiresome.
I am pretty sure that Song Jae is an ally, but I’m really enjoying his scenes. The actor shines no matter what character he plays.
The one liners are such a treat. “There are so many weirdos in the palace” and “Legos?” made me giggle.
I'm not sure he is her father. My impression is that he was living with (not married or even engaged) the girl's…
It’s only been two episodes, and since they are the second leads their storyline will likely be fleshed out in the middle.
You’re right on Nu-ri- her mom was likely his mistress and she abandoned her with him, so he dumped her on his son. I can’t believe he wanted to put her in an orphanage.
Loved that episode two was mostly a flashback to flesh out the characters and their relationship, but that amusement park scene broke me. That poor little girl. I can’t wait to see how her teenage self reacts to her (step?)father, who pretty much just threw her away but she was still the most resilient kid. Still wondering why a wealthy and successful woman married that trash.
The one single scene of SFL tearing up while hearing SML’s voice makes me already root for them and looking forward to their flashbacks. The actor who plays his character has done so well on his prior shows, so it’s good to see him again. In fact, all the child/teenage actors are fantastic.
Loving their chemistry already from the first scene at the plant nursery. It has a very calm and soothing atmosphere and the visuals are similar to My Beloved Summer and Run On, which I loved. Hopefully it continues!
I’m on episode four and both leads are equally insufferable. FL is ridiculous for bothering the ML all the time on why he doesn’t like her- it’s sad and pathetic. And the ML is cold and an absolute jerk. Though they don’t hold a candle to the younger brother’s awful girlfriend. I hope that’s the last we see of her.
Of course both the sister and brother have to be equally incompetent to balance out the brother. He’s giving his dad a lecture about telling the truth when he’s keeping his resignation a secret from everyone.
The only one who seems decent is the SML, who is going to get royally screwed over for being so nice, and the grandmother who is trying to get a job to help out while the rest of the family are being dumb. The father could have kept the 10 grand so he has time to find another job, but he was too “prideful.” That money was yours since they cancelled a job contract! I’m sure this will change as the episodes go, but there are so many people on this show to not root for right now it’s crazy.
Episode 13 was pretty good, but then episode 14 happened and I couldn’t believe they went that route. Absolutely unnecessary! Wish there were more family scenes as well- that family dinner in episode 13 where they were all having a good time and laughing at the awkward proposal was definitely a highlight.
I slogged through the last two episodes hoping it could get better, but with better editing and dialogue this all could have been fit in one episode. I’m still confused what’s going on, and we are halfway done!
So much talent wasted on bad dialogue and redundant “pensive, evil staring.” Usually the main leads pick good scripts, so no idea if everything on paper looked good but the execution sucked. Will still watch the last four episodes, but won’t be expecting much.
I can’t take that head thug seriously since he sounds like a high pitched cartoon character.
The radish and plunger slap had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. I think this show has gotten better by the week since they aren’t showing the FL as being dumb and incompetent.
What a relaxing and healing show, but then episode 10 happened. I don’t even know what to think after watching the episode and that crazy ending. Would have preferred to have seen another beautiful town she was traveling to while bonding with Yeon Seok. I liked that we got some FL healing, but after that abrupt ending there better be more future episodes.
