That's true too! Another reason why I don't feel like time is running out just yet :)

I live to serve :D Also like, Tae Kyung started liking Da On at the end of ep6, so that's about 1/3 of the show without a love interest, 1/3 liking Da On, and now (probably!) 1/3 coming to like Shin Woo, and then there's still the time skip that they can use as a plot device to give the development more time. I feel like it'll be fine :) if not you can always yell at me for giving you false hope lol

With only 5 episodes remaining, idk how they'll make Tae fall for Shinwoo, when he still evidently likes Daon…
I feel like it also helps to remember that those 5 episodes still equate to roughly 2 hours of runtime. That's a feature-length film. A lot can happen in that time span, so I wouldn't make myself anxious just yet :)

You know the line from that Massive Attack song that goes "love is a verb, love is a doing word"? I feel like that's the difference between how Shin Woo and Da On respectively are treating Tae Kyung at this point.
Also, you KNOW the commentary is getting serious when the song references come out lololol

I feel like he did that to make her clean up the mess she caused. Namgoong to me is the type who seems easy going but will mess you up if necessary without ever losing his smile, which might be scarier than someone who's straight up furious haha

I'm pretty hopeful they will execute it well - so far, the writing hasn't let me down. Also, we do still have a time skip coming up as this is still 2 years in the past, so they still have that up their sleeve to make sure that nothing feels rushed or like a rebound.

Oof. Well, my head's a mess now.

I have no words for So Hee. If Da On's parents really are THAT bad (which, they can burn too then), and apparently everybody knows that they are, who knows what kind of horrors she could have unleashed on Da On for the sake of her bruised ego? AFAIK, conversion therapy is still a thing in Korea. The best possible outcome I could see for her at this point is to do some military grade grovelling, all the while knowing that forgiveness still isn't in her future.

Namgoong continues to deserve everything and more.

I think the reason why what Tae Kyung said to Da On hit so hard is that while the statement was harsh and certainly came from a place of anger and hurt, ultimately it was true. There were two people in that situation, both were having a hard time. One thought of the other, the other thought of himself. There needed to be a conversation, if only to the effect of "I'm sorry, I can't do this." Instead we had a repetition of a familiar pattern: avoidance and denial. This was going to backfire on Da On at some point; these things always do. But watching it play out like that still made me feel hollow.

My personal belief is that Shin Woo thought in the beginning that Tae Kyung was mocking his sexuality too. Remember they officially first met in the first episode when Tae Kyung accidentally poked Shin Woo's butt with that sex ed dildo? We as the audience knew it was an accident, and once Shin Woo got to know Tae Kyung better I think he figured that out too, but at first it must have looked to Shin Woo as though Tae Kyung did that to be all "eww this kid likes it up the butt". (Not that there's anything wrong with that, just in the context of homophobic high school bullying obviously)

Yeah....it makes me scared for tomorrow's episode tbh. I HOPE it's not as bad as it sounded in the preview. But either way, I know I'm going to be angry, if only at the people who leaked the photo.

Literally. That's why the people defending him on this particular thing are weird to me too - not necessarily their motivation, but their method.
I don't appreciate reading that I must not have any understanding of the LGBT+ struggle if I criticise Da On. Like, as if I'm not a big fat queer myself, alongside probably 2/3 of this comment section. I do know. That's how I KNOW it's possible to stick up for your friends against homophobic rhetoric without being out myself. Also, I can't help but feel it's disrespectful to the history of our community to suggest that hiding is always the better choice if there is a chance of backlash. People have come out under far more dire circumstances than Da On is in to fight for their right. Were they dumb or wrong for that? If it wasn't for these people, I'd probably still be getting electrocuted in a mental hospital somewhere for looking at a titty a bit too long, like people did in the past.

Like, nobody's expecting Da On to start running around school wearing a rainbow flag as a toga. If he doesn't want to be out, that's fine. But you can't tell me that leaving Tae Kyung out in the cold like that is cool.

That's exactly it. You don't need to be out to treat your friends well or to not throw someone under the bus. Also, I have to say it's upsetting how many people in this comment section are acting as though like 2/3 of us here aren't LGBT+ ourselves. Don't have to tell us it's hard, we KNOW. Doesn't mean you have to be mean to the people you presumably care about.

Hey girl hey ;)
It's also like....I don't know who needs to hear this, but fault and responsibility are not the same, and trauma does not absolve you of personal responsibility. It's not Da On's fault that his childhood was shitty. It's not his fault that society is homophobic and some people will ostracise him for liking a guy. But it is his responsibility to take charge of his personal growth and to treat the people he cares about well. Like, if we can't stick up for and take care of our people, literally what is the point? Taking care of one another, and being taken care of in return, is what makes us human.

Heh, thanks :) Luisa's the name btw, if you ever felt like using it, though obviously I like my username as well lol.
That's exactly it. Like, I'm not even saying that you can't have a great relationship while closeted. I couldn't do it, but people do it all the time and are happy. But at the very least what you HAVE to have is communication and understanding between the 2 parties. If you can't trust that you're a priority for the other person, then I'm sorry, but you don't have a relationship. I feel for Da On, but his time to go big or go home has passed I think. I want to see Shin Woo get a shot now.

I can't help but feel like this is a bit of a callback to the situation with the 2 girls at the blind date. Like, he accepted in the moment because it was the easiest way to incur good will and didn't care about the consequences for the girls later. The scene from the preview is similar; he says Tae Kyung misinterpreted his feelings to save face in the moment, when in the long run it's gonna hurt his actual friend and himself. He only thinks about what is most beneficial to him and his image RIGHT in the moment. That's such a house of cards that's bound to collapse at some point. Shin Woo really shines in comparison. He knows who he is.

Yeah. You have to wonder at what point it'll be enough for him to develop a spine, especially when his actions don't affect him alone but also someone he presumably cares about.

Yeah, that would have been the least of it. That, and having an actual conversation with Tae Kyung. It'd be one thing if he didn't have a support system, but he has a group of really close friends who have already shown that they will accept and support him. Like, sir. Why is the opinion of random people more important to you than those who really care about you?

Right?? Like, they could have supported each other through that, and you know Shin Woo and Namgoong would have fought like lions for them too. But now because Da On wasn't able to be honest both he and Tae Kyung have to face this mess alone. Just a terrible situation all around.

I guess if there's one thing I'm disappointed about it's that he couldn't have an honest talk with Tae Kyung privately. I feel like Tae Kyung deserved that. But being outed like that is so horrible I don't want to criticise right now.
