Because Lee Gun's hair is amazing and it was a tragedy when they cut it.
This is some truth right here. Example: Jang Hyuk's character in My Country. (chef's kiss)

I appreciate your appreciation of Natsume. For me he was the most complex and interesting character in the entire…
I would really love a third season - like post-college - to see how everyone is doing now.

I love that you recommended Kimi wa Petto, one of my favorite J-doramas ever. Shison Jun was made for that role. I would also add Seo Kang Joon's ML character in I'll Come to You When the Weather is Nice - he was the epitome of gentleness, sweetness, loyalty and love.

On Something in the Rain Oct 15, 2020
I watched the first 1/3 of this drama, dropped it for six months (because I was starting not to be able to stand any of the characters except for the poor ML and the FL's dad) and finally came back tonight to just finish it. I never thought that I would get so frustrated with a drama.
The mother honestly needed therapy - in any culture, that kind of behavior is just flat-out unacceptable, narcissistic, and borderline emotionally abusive.
The OST was like nails on a chalkboard, and I honestly muted the sound for the last few episodes because I just couldn't hear the same songs over and over again ad. nauseum.
The last three episodes were like a lesson in angsty anxiety and I practically needed antidepressants to get through them. While the acting from everyone was first rate, this was just too much with not enough payback.

I hope that one day you feel totally comfortable in your own skin, and get the chance to show up as the real you. Loving another person is the highest honor we get to have in this world, and love is just that - love. Human beings love other human beings. I hope that one day you feel brave enough and safe enough to tell someone who you actually are. Your voice is important .

I was just going to ask this question - are HK dramas in Cantonese or does China dub them into Mandarin? And what…
Thank you for this great response - very helpful

Also now I'm curious which advertising partners of this site would negatively weigh in on these issues....which gives me some feelings.

Great discussion! I'm curious why BL tags would need to be more moderated than other tags - I don't see a reason why that would be necessary. And if articles dealing with LGBTQ+ issues are tricky to get accepted on here, then that makes me very interested in writing something. :-)

I think it's interesting too, how tags are moderated on here. I tried to add a Romance tag to "Just Friends" a short BL but it got rejected because it was already listed as BL or Gay Relationship or something. And I don't agree that those concepts always mean the same thing. So if we're not allowed to add Romance tags to BL, then there definitely won't be enough tagged dramas to analyze.

I also love watching HKDrama but I agree the quality is not as they use to be. To me, it really feel more comfortable…
I was just going to ask this question - are HK dramas in Cantonese or does China dub them into Mandarin? And what would be the best mature romantic drama to start watching? I get tired of the too-chaste k-dramas every once in a while...
On My First First Love Season 2 Oct 12, 2020
I'll just be honest here. I hated this drama. The more I watched, the more I hated it. Then I started to despise it with some serious fire.
And here's why:
1) I hated the rich, spoiled, entitled, and bitchy main character(s) - (one, mostly) - who were often bratty dicks to people they supposedly loved, but got all the props because they didn't have jobs or any responsibilities of any sort and could just show up everywhere at a moment's notice (unlike other characters who actually had to work and couldn't just ghost whenever they wanted to.)
2) The FL was stupid at times, and I wasn't expecting that. Like she would do really dumb stuff (like stupidly get into a stalker's car) and I found myself starting to dislike her. But it was her choice at the very freaking end that really made her dead to me. Like done.
3) THAT was one of the worst endings of any dramas I've seen in years. All that build-up, all that relationship work, all that fooling us that this wouldn't end up being a stupid drama with a shitty, cliched ending, but one that could actually make sense. But no. The writernims ruined it with the ultimate reward going to a wholly undeserving character in the end.
