Not sure why people are complaining so much. Everyone suffered and (almost everyone) then tried to repair their terrible mistakes. No one ended up without scars. Sounds like real life to me.

‘88 was the best - I actually couldn’t make it through the other ones. And in my opinion, the two leads ended up with the right people, unlike what so many other folks say (it was SO obvious almost from the start who she liked and why, I don’t get why some folks couldn’t see it.)
But Reply 1988, even with all the yelling, was absolutely brilliantly written and acted. And the soundtrack was 💯

I think you're overthinking this. It's just acting and they're all professionals. Plus there's plenty of eye contact everywhere.

I’ve seen great kissing scenes in C-dramas lately. Maid’s Revenge, for just one example. (There are more.)
