Finally finished this, great ride and I enjoyed it very much. Hope we don't wait too long for season 2 it will be even more epic but I have a great love for the early part of the story. No qualms on the acting, all were casted well and i'd say YY and Jin Chen definitely elevated their characters.
I think HL's nature and character is what sets this apart from most in the genre, he was born poor in a village. But was already intelligent even before he started cultivating, he isn't this great immortal emperor or whateever.
His first foray inbto the cultivation world his masterr wanted to possess him, his friend refined into a puppet, the whole ordeasl with mo juren shapes him in his travels and I definiterly think he ws the best mster of han li, on how to survive in the cultivation world and to just see the world in genersl,
I think the romance isn't anything to write home about but the rather the moments of reflection are much more important snd memorable. Xin Ruyin and Qi Yunqiao, the effects of cultivation in the royal family, the rouge cultivators at the bazaar, Chen Qiaoqian and her marriage and many more to come. These facets of the cultivation world and the effect it has on mortals to immortals is why I rate this so highly, the name "A mortals journey to immortality" sums it up, for me a masterpiece.
In the novel my favorite dynamic was Han Li's relationship wit the Mo Family and it slightly changed here but I understand why. Mo Juren shaped his outlook on cultivating, even in the end when Han Li killed him, he led him back to the Mo Mansion, already expecting the outcome of his defeat. The story continues but deviates with the 3 daughters. I liked Mo Caihuan the most out of all of them but all their stories are interesting.
Mo Caihuan and her mother flee to Yan Castle, but she can't cultivate, instead of watching her grow old, they part ways
Mo Fengwu becomes mute and takes refuge with the family in the capital HL gets sent to, she plans to take revenge on the faction that kill her family and asks Han to help her
Mo Yuzhu is now married to the son of the faction that killed her family, she even has a daughter, HL obviously is conflicted
The three sisters all their lives changed differently, when he leaves the city closing the chapter on the mo family. Hope we continue to see interesting things and new places in the next seasons as we follow his travels.
Ep 25 Wow the visuals are stunning, had to pause to see the snow falling in the imperial courtyard, the moonlight and Han vs the cult leader. Half of our seniors are gone but the array scene was cool. Time to finish up our capital trip and he revisited sun ergou nice, another parting with miss mo, think i'll wait for this drama to end before commenting on mo juren and his family, definitely one of the key parts of the novel. Take off the romance tag and this is a 9.0 rating minimum, there is romance but it is not the central theme in this story, and the thing about this adaptation through no fault of the producers and writers. The novel is over 2k chapters, yes nangong wan is the fl but across the whole novel, 30 eps i can understand the frustration of some viewers as she is barely in it now. This is literally her appearances in the early part of the story. Really hope for season 2.
Up to ep 24 and its been very enjoyable so far even surpassing my expectations constantly, the casting is perfect. When this was in production hell and had YY as Han Li I admit I thought he was too handsome but his portrayal is one of my favorites. He definitely adds to the character, same with Nangong Wan in the brief scenes we have she impresses. That masked moon sect guy also great casting. The effects and the soundtrack are brilliant, battle at yan clan and the battle in the palace it just keeps getting better and better. The battle that should be in ep 25 hopefully should impress the world, the donghua did it beautifully and i think they can carry it out well. This really needs 4/5 seasons to really see the full picture as one of the great novels
comments are funny, I understand but Han wasn't called forever alone sects ancestor for nothing lol, the romance is definitely better down the line, some really good ones

Finished the fight with the flood dragon in the trial area wow!!!! Like the bickering between them and they have good teamwork. Han straight up said I was afraid you would kill me and rob me lol. A bit nostalgic because it reminds me after I finished the novel and mtl of the sequel there was just a trailer for the next project and it shows this fight. Probably watched it every day waiting for the animation to come out its really good and now we have the live action killing it. This is a really unique story and unique mc. Up to ep 11 so far and it's been really good, Yang Yang's acting is brilliant, the way he acted young han li was perfect and props to the costume/make up people he looked really convincing as a poor young teen. Doctor Mo perfectly cast and even to the end of the novel was Han Li's best teacher, The setting for the trial grounds is perfect they did a great job with that, YY brings out that feeling that death is just round the corner with Han Li. Reading some comments below that Jin Chen(Nangong Wan) has some cut scenes, idk after the trial grounds and a bit after I dont think her character was that present in the novel at least for a while, actually quite underused. Hope it pans out, this is my favourite novel, favourite mc, wishing them all the best
