Title Useless Love
The synopsis says it's “a hilarious romance,” but the poster looks sad.

While I agree that killing off Don was a bad choice this moaning fest over the second couple is increasingly tiresome.…
It’s not as if the main couple lacked spicy scenes. In fact, I’d argue they actually had more of them overall. That said, I’m not particularly fond of pairings that lean too heavily on sexualization. Still, my preference went to the second couple mainly because the main couple’s storyline came across as frustratingly idiotic.

As I’ve commented before, this is probably the first series that actually managed to make me hate its main characters. By comparison, the second couple didn’t even have to try, they won me over simply by not being insufferable.

I blew through the 54-minute finale in less than five minutes because I only cared about what happened to Pond. If that’s all you’re here for too, just skip ahead to around the 35-minute and 43-minute marks, that’s where his (and Don's) scenes are.

So they killed off an important character and then moved on from it it 5 minutes? I thought they were joking in…
Same. Don dying as a plot twist was so ludicrous that I didn’t even got to feel sad. I was just annoyed, then ended up laughing because it was so absurd. It felt like a bad joke, and I kept waiting for a punch line, I mean there had to be one, because there’s no way that was meant to be taken seriously.

girl what the actual fck???? he literally just believed a random girl calling his bfs phone and never thought…
So that’s what really happened? What an unbelievably stupid misunderstanding. I’m glad I didn’t waste more time on that nonsense. After the whole Don fiasco, I didn’t even bother finishing episode 8.

why is everyone complaining saying its not good? I've watched it and I enjoy it, it may not be your cup of tea,…
Saying something isn’t good isn’t disrespectful. Saying you don’t like it or even hate it, isn’t disrespect either. Those are opinions, just like liking it is an opinion. You may love it, someone else may dislike it, and that difference simply comes down to personal preference.

What is disrespectful is the writing choice itself. Killing off one of the supporting characters solely to force the plot forward because the writers made the main character so passive and spineless that he couldn’t grow or act on his own. Instead of earning that development organically, they used a death as a shortcut, and that’s lazy storytelling.

So a man had to literally die, just so Akin would finally talk to Than about what happened? Also Than please grow…
That’s what makes it so hard to believe. They weren’t nearly close enough for his death to realistically have such a profound impact on him. Sure, they knew each other because Don was a client, but there was no real bond or meaningful relationship there to justify why Don’s death would suddenly be the catalyst for him to finally talk to Than and get his life in order. It just doesn’t add up. And it's still pissing me off!

Not as good as 2004 drama version, but the imagery and music in this movie heavily inspired the latter.
Just starting this. Didn't know there is a drama version. I'll check it out.

It sure is. Same with the other series that share the same universe.
I’ve only made it through 3 of the University series so far, and they’ve all been pretty frustrating 😅. They each start out with a strong, promising premise, but the momentum drops off quickly, long before the midpoint. For me, Avenues of Diamond has been the most narrative-focused, especially with its use of internal monologues.

Why do I feel like this series has more explicit narrative than implicit action ?
It sure is. Same with the other series that share the same universe.
