I thought it was going to be like gogo squid but the dynamic between the leads is not so extreme, in a nice way. The ML is cold but refreshingly less grumpy
Blown away. Battosai walks like a gazelle but stings like a bee. Takeru Satoh plays this duality to perfection. The sound design & background score is epic!
"What happened to the original plot of the movie?" This whole drama had lots of red flags but the biggest was trying to bring sympathy for the app developer. He was interested in someone who was clearly uninterested, not nice to him, and he manipulated this in S2, very strong incel vibes. Also lots could have been made easier if the story focused on communication, the misunderstandings just added up and I think this is due to them prioritising viewership. I actually wanted the female lead to end up with the rich guy. She went through a lot of hardship in life- girl could have done with some extravagant shopping , best therapy!
I am in love with Rika, must protect her at all costs. She is honest, creative, fashionable, playful- I thought she would be the hero’s magic pixie but she is not there to save him which is refreshing! It must be tiring being with mediocre men. When Kanji talked about the good qualities of his friend Mikami even after he was told by Satomi that she was assaulted his him?? (ep 7) There are some very cute moments in the drama, OST is amazing
This is my favourite manga and the drama did a great job with it. Koji Seto as Kuronosuke was incredible. He should be winning international awards for it. Instead boring and offensive performances like Eddie Redmayne's (Danish Girl) get celebrated.
It's great to see gender dramas not using butterflies and caterpillars as metaphors but instead jellyfish- One of the most versatile and incredible creatures on the planet! Also I loved the way they showed female otakus. Idk why women nerds get so much grief for being obsessed with things so this manga was kind and empathetic to them which is refreshing !
I'm here for Rizuna and Chishiya <3 two of the best characters in the drama. Look forward to Chishiya's backstory in season 2 ..the fight scene with Rizuna is pure art
I didn't understand why the FL didn't have a flat of her own to go to and instead slept at the clinic?? This turned me off- imagine the smell of floor cleaner, kibble and pet smell
I loved the movie except for Coldplay playing at the end. Sorry! Not a fan of their music. I imagined a different band, not too commercial, to close the film but otherwise I loved the film
A piece of life advice: If someone has a tough relationship with a parent do not go out of your way to mend things between them. There is a chance that things were broken and and it will be mended if both parties want to especially when there is abuse and neglect involved. Yeah sometimes things don't work out and it's okay. I felt like towards the end of the drama the FL did things in an erratic way that didn't follow the logic of her character from the start especially the way she interfered in the ML's relationship with his father. It resolved in a hurried way too which made me lose interest in the drama towards the end
