Why does this series has so many side stories . Do we have to watch them all or they are not related

Hello how many seasons is this series ? I have watched only season 1 and i can see that there are some specials . Can someone tell me if the specials are related with the story or if they are stand alone stories ?

nevermind i searched it .. i didn't know that was the alternative name , i only knew the Love O2O name

I always loved chinese historical -fantasy movies .. but i fell in love with chinese drama with Ice Fantasy . The story the setting everything was what i wanted in one drama .. And i loved Scarlet Heart . I know the rest of them but i don't know if i'll like them . chinese drama has a bad habit . they have way too many episodes an if i don't like it halfway i drop it easily .

Do all of them have interesting story because i like some historical but only when it has some romance or action
