That is because you are from an individualistic culture, and people from the west are more likely to think that way. I understand you. No worries, that is your opinion. but this line "Those wives appear more like servants than wives" it sounds discriminatory to me. Why do you have to discriminate wives that are living like that? I was just trying to say that there are people here in the east that are living exactly like that and that they view that as their personal growth. Yeah, its your own growth, but don't try to stereotype wives as being people without growth at all. Just that, personal growth is also achieved through raising kids, if that's how a person should put it. You don't need to shove it like its not part of it because it is. As a collectivist, personal growth for me comes in growing with people around me. That's me and my culture.

Perhaps, you might have seen that through the lens of your culture, but personally, I found this comment really disturbing since I grew up with my mom taking care of us. My mom is a housewife, bore 4 children and been taking care of us ever since we were born with my dad barely at home (he's a seafarer). Everyday, my mom took care of us, since we were babies (me and my brothers are all adults now) all by herself, without asking help for someone. She send us to school, bring us food, wash clothes (just to mention a few of her daily activities). When she was having free time, she goes to graduate school at a stunning age of 49 even while always taking care of all of us. My mom has been living in the house for many years, but I can say she's the super housewife. She did achieve growth in a sense that she managed to raise us all by herself and even managing my father's bank account. She even raised us very well and thought us things so that we could live independently now. Truly, she is the model housewife. And, the best thing in this is, She is happy with her life now. She has a happy marriage, and a happy family. So it works. Being a housewife, therefore, has some good things in and also some bad things as well. Depending on your perspective. Though for me, in my own experience, if not of my mom becoming a housewife, if not for her taking care of all of us, I would not be as successful as I am now. So, I don't think housewives don't have growth. My mom is the living example of that.

Same here! I am starting to like it too! We got married as a job has really grown in me. I feel like shoujo romances have become somewhat lacking in depth and the love portrayed is shallow. Although my guilty pleasure of watching them is really the actors like the shoujo princes mentioned here. ^^
Watch this if you are into Josei dramas, with mature topics involving marriage, career, family. This one is an eye opener for me, as I already reached the age when I can become curious about marriage and the things that go along with. This struck me really deep and I love it so much. It gives me serious insight about what I'm gonna do my life. If you are considering marriage or in one, this one is for you. After all, it touch the realities of marriage issues too. If you are into the usual shoujo appeal, this would bore you because all the cheesiness in this drama is not typically those that are felt with young ones or superficial ones ( like your usual teenage love story). You need to be deep to understand this, go beyond first love, heartbreaks, love triangles, or the usually cliche images about romances.
I like how the hug was portrayed like a very deep emotional connection that is much deeper and much stronger than a kiss. I was really satisfied with the hugs. For the first time watching jdrama that I did not complain about the kisses. The relationship is so sweet that actually seeing and understanding it in goes beyond skin ship.

Is this like a really medical drama? like there would be episodic people with disease and the main character opens them all in surgery? Like doctor X kind of vibe? cause if it is. I'm watching it.
Gintama fan here! I have been dying for this, but really? Oguri Shun? I am not confident that he may not be able to portray Gin-san's character that much. Which is really an important aspect in the show. Still looking forward to it! ~
