I am very late to this but I just watched the movie today and had a thought. What if the song was actually dedicated to Fujii? Let's assume that the movie was set in the year it was released (1995), so if we wind back to when Aoi Sangoshou came out (1980), the characters' ages line up with the timeline. Seiko Matsuda was an idol very popular with middle school kids in her time. The song is about an adolescent girl who has a crush, so by singing that song right before his death, he was reminiscing about his middle school days when he had a crush on Female Fujii. Check out Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku, Okada Masaki is the second lead too in that! They both give the same vibes…
Hey, thanks for your recommendations! I have actually already watched both - and thoroughly enjoyed them! Legal High was super fun and the characters are so intelligent. Okitegami Kyoko was also very enjoyable and Masai Okada’s character was such a simp for the FL ?
