She learned from her past life that not standing up for herself leads to tragedy. Weak and cowardly people are…
I guess I will bring instant death then, coz I am very "mouthy" as you put it. You do realize that not all people are the same right, different people have different ways of standing up for themselves, and straight-forwardness is one such way. The above person said it right. I learned in life the hard way that if you don't stand up to people who harm you, you will be trampled upon. Also, you need to be daring enough like the FL, in order to stand up for yourself. She was straightforward and remained the same till the end and didn't allow anyone to bully her. She was daring enough to confront everybody without any hesitation, and that is the key. She didn't hesitate to stand up for herself, no matter who tried to hurt her, including that Consort. And look, she walked out safely. Not everybody has to be cunning and not everyone can be cunning either. Also, there are so many dramas with FLs who are cunningly clever, so it would be boring to watch another one with the same traits. I actually find the FL very refreshing here.
Did I miss something? Did they show what happened after Yu Qi proposed marriage to Jiang Si in ep9? What exactly did Si tell him that he was so furious? Wasn't he also preparing to leave that place? Why did he stay back? Am I missing some scenes or did they edit out those scenes?
I don't think they must say exact cause of death, not to mention you can't compare doctors and finding cause of…
I think you didn't even read my comment properly. Firstly, I didn't call the husband's character boring; I said that his brother's character (after he became an adult in ep6) is boring. Secondly, I didn't say that they must explain the "exact" cause of his death diagnosed by a modern doctor. I said that his death was abrupt and rushed.
Since the start of the drama, they never showed any scenes indicating that he was seriously ill. Then suddenly they show that he faints and dies at the end of an episode. One would expect that they would at least show some flashbacks in the next episodes about him struggling with some illness, but no, nothing. Just a subtle scene of him having a regular headache doesn't explain anything, it isn't even that noticeable tbh. Just one headache isn't enough to kill a person. They must have faced repeated symptoms of illness, getting worse day by day, ultimately leading to death. And all I'm asking is that they should've shown at least a couple of scenes of him experiencing those symptoms, and not just throw some random scene where he suddenly faints and dies.
He was a noble man and had access to go to a decent enough physician to know what was going on with his body. Medicine has been existing since centuries, it's not a "modern" concept. Though their technology might not have been advanced, the physicians back then were still very much capable of diagnosing life-threatening diseases.
Also, I don't think he had a stroke. When someone has a stroke, they would clutch their chest and struggle for a few seconds before passing out. He didn't clutch his chest. "aneurysm" - I don't even know what this word means, a regular viewer doesn't have much medical knowledge, we are not doctors. So, the writers are supposed to explain it, not leave it to the viewers to keep guessing about it, with just one subtle scene, which isn't even that noticeable. If I didn't ask here about it yesterday, I would still have not known what happened.
Watched the surprise episodes and here is what I feel - They didn't clearly explain the cause of her FIL's death even in the next 2 eps. They only showed that he had some headache just once in ep4. That reference was so subtle that if another commenter didn't remind me of that scene, I wouldn't even be able to connect the dots. We at least deserve to know what was going on with his head. His death was so abrupt and rushed. On top of that, both eps 5 and 6 felt all over the place. That girl trying to impersonate OTY sounds trouble, and her scenes were sooo boring!! I find the 2nd master Seong also to be boring, his character doesn't have much substance. Waste of screen time for these 2 characters. I would rather like to know what her husband has been doing these 7 years, and why he treated her like a stranger.
I'm also watching dramacool I'm not facing any problem maybe you should change the server
Which server are you watching on? I tried both the standard server and the asianload server, both are not working. The remaining ones keep creating pop-ups on every single click and it's very annoying. I even tried on two different browsers and its the same problem on both of them. I'm trying to figure out whether the problem is with my firewall or with the server.
Is it only me who is facing issues playing the videos on dramacool? The videos are not loading and it's showing something like, "embasic.pro is refusing to connect". Is it only me who is facing this issue?
I understand where you're coming from with your frustrations, but I have to disagree with some points in this…
Lol! It's like you just want to argue against everything I stated. Chen Huang's character didn't have any "nuance" and didn't add anything to the plot. He was simply just another obsessed character who killed so many demons just to prolong the life of the woman he was obsessed with, despite her telling him to stop multiple times. He didn't even have any sad, heartbreaking backstory, unlike the first fish demon and his lover. He is just a single-dimensional, obsessed character, whose story is, yes, nothing but the "same old story". Because the same trope has been so over-used in most of the recent dramas, it does feel repetitive and boring, especially because this drama started off as "different".
The FL's character has been nothing but static since ep1. No growth whatsoever. She doesn't portray "subtle" emotions, she doesn't display any emotions at all. The few times she smiles at the ML, it looks so fake, very visible that she is "acting". She legit looked like she was reciting multiplication tables when she was chanting the spell. The ML's expressions are no where overly expressive. He emotes just the right amount, as needed by his character. So, there is no need to "balance out" anything here, moreover she doesn't even offer anything to balance here.
It's raining obsessive characters in cdramas lately. It was SR in Princess Royal, Marquis Lu in The Rise of Ning and Chen Huang and Li Lun here. I'm tired of this trope tbh, sick of this obsessed delulu sh*t. Watched till ep10, it was good in the first few episodes, but the stories are getting repetitive now. It's always the same old story of some obsessed guy killing everyone else to resurrect his own love. And the same old story of someone not understanding their family members and hurting them impulsively.
The FL's character makes it worse for me. She is so weak even after getting her Baize token, it annoys me. The actress is also not emoting well. In the scene where she gets her Baize token back and chants a spell, her face is legit devoid of any emotions. Reminds me of myself when I'm buried under huge workload and wondering when all the work would end, lol! Whereas, the actor playing the ML has perfect micro-expressions. There was emotion in his eyes even when he was simply chanting the spell.
Yeah unfortunately this happens on a regular basis and beyond gentle reminders, there is little else that can…
I'm sorry for not sugar-coating my words, but some things need to be said. The reason people forget is because they don't take the task seriously in the first place. If you take the task seriously, then you can't forget to do it. Also, in case of trailer spoilers, simply adding a spoiler tag is not enough because it's about upcoming unaired episodes. You need to mention that it's a trailer spoiler so that people who don't want to be spoiled about it can quit reading it immediately. Most of the time we read the ones with spoiler tags too because we think that it's about the currently aired episode and we have finished watching it. We don't expect it to be about trailers or upcoming story lines. Once again sorry for not sugar-coating my words. Hope you don't take it personally.

There are way too many so I can't block all of them. Also, I always try to quickly scroll past, but it doesn't work always. Because the spoilers are most of the time right in your face and it's already too late by the time I realise and scroll away. I just wish people were not so selfish. It doesn't take much time to put a spoiler warning you know.
It's ridiculous how people are still not mentioning spoiler warnings for previews and upcoming story lines, even after being requested. Some are not even using spoiler tags. I don't understand why they have to ruin it for others!!
I request people to use spoiler tags when giving spoilers from previews or from the novel. Also, please mention it at the beginning itself that it's a spoiler from upcoming episodes/story line. So that people who have completed the present episodes, but don't want spoilers for the upcoming episodes, will not click on it. I'm sorry, but by not specifying, you are spoiling the fun for others.
