I have to agree to disagree with you. Pete has shown he can be assertive. He told Trump numerous time NO, told…
Thanks for the long reply :) I like your insight. My problems with BL stories (especially written by a female writer). They tend to project feminity mentality on Uke - if that's what exists. I don't know what gender the writer of LBC, but I am sure 2Moons is written by a female.
They also awfully represent the women in the story (like Addicted, none of the women in that story is okay in the head, except the stepmother, same with 2Moons, the Upperclassman who seduces Pha, creates conflict etc)
So in order to project their selves into stories, the female writes usually give the Uke all feminine traits (being cute, white, agreeable, compassionate, a bit dumb (like Wayo),
But male and female temperaments are different. Males have the tendency to be more aggressive, assertive, disagreeable, and emotionally inept (it's fact, there are bunch of academic articles about this)
That's why SOTUS and Addicted work, because Arthit and Bai Luo Jin have very strong character.
Anyway, I wish I can read the novel so I won't have this immediate impression of Pete, I wish I knew what's going on his head, why he is reluctant to fight back when he can.
Honestly, I cannot wait for the Tin/Can couple. I find Ae/Pete dynamic is pretty boring. For me, Pete is like an embodiment of a girl in distress that needs to be saved all the time. Can he just throw a punch for once? And why does Ae have to treat him like he is a fragile teapot?
Just like 2Moons, Pha/Wayo dynamic did not make feel invested, it was Ming/Kit dynamic that held me back from stopping watching it.
Honestly, I don't understand the logic of the main protagonists. Especially Oat, he comes to point 3+4 and makes a false conclusion. That's what makes them super funny. Though I don't enjoy the bullying drama.
