Cheng Lei must have been dying to stop acting in the wheelchair for so many episodes.

I thought that they were killed by the palace quards, and Ye Li came to the capital for revenge. She was glad about the marriage to Prince Mo Xiu Yao, to gain access to the palace. Empress Dowager looks that she is tolerating Mo Xiu Yao's existence. Now that he can walk and fight, she and Emperor might feel threatened by him.

She is a spy.

FL and ML have excellent martial arts skills. They should be teaming up as the dynamic duo, instead of being loners. As of episode 23, neither of them is aware of each other's skillsets. FL is reminiscing about her crush on ML after he saved her.

Ye Li and Mo Xiu Yao have become an old boring married couple, and they only cuddled for the first time in episode 23. Ye Li is great as a deadly assassin. The writer should have focused on that skill. The palace conspiracy is not compelling. Empress Dowager and Marquis Muyung look bored. This drama should have been thirty episodes long.

I agree about Empress Dowager. She doesn't look like a ruler or a psycho. She looks very lackluster and bland for a ruler. She and Marquis Muyung should be a couple. They are both two-faced and manipulative. We are at the midpoint of the drama with nothing happening. Get ready for the filler in the next eighteen episodes.

I don't understand why Mo Xiu Yao looks sentimental toward her. Did he love her once upon a time? Betrothals are usually impersonal arrangements by the parents.

I feel that General Li sent her to infiltrate Mo Xiu Yao's mansion. As a servant of the Cangmei princess, how is she given a leave of absence to visit her old friends? It doesn't work like that when you are in servitude.

She also has some connection to Marquis Muyung. Are they related?

I am surprised she was still hanging around after "husband" late Emperor's death, many years ago. She should have been sent to her hometown. She must be blackmailing Dowager Empress. Is she the one who has the edict that Mo Xiu Yao and Ye Li are looking for?

Is Mo Jing Li hiding in Lishan Mountain, since it is abandoned, and no one enters there? What happened to Whatshisname after he discovered the ruins of Lishan Mountain at the end of episode 22? He fell of the planet, and was not even seen in episode 23.

The reason there is a heavy guard presence at the base of the mountain, is to prevent nosy people from finding out that the people were killed years ago. Dowager Empress and Marquis Muyung are involved in the Lishan conspiracy. Will she be dethroned?

That was one of the best fighting scenes. General Li got his butt kicked in the same fashion as his father.

That is such a waste of time. The writers ran out of ideas, so they decided to drag the plot with divorce, heartbreak and grey hair tropes?

Finally, a costume drama with a HE, like the book! There was a recent drama that had a SE while the book had a HE. I can't even remember the name anymore.
