there are just too many ZHOU's for me to remember. i don't even know which is what again. Yangzhou, youzhou, yuzhou,…
Funny that you mentioned the many Zhous..., I googled "Zhou", and found out that there was a Zhou Dynasty from 1046 BC – 256 BC; the longest dynastic regime in Chinese history.
I don't pay attention to the names of the sub-kingdoms/towns. It was confusing when Emperor was surveying the map. It took me a long time to memorize Youzhou, Yangzhou and Eastern Capital while I was watching the previous episodes.
We are on the last stretch of the drama. Four episodes to introduce the new emperor and more palace conflict and resolution. Fan Xuan was in a quandary, to choose between Zhou Ye and General Qin or Gu Jiusi and Shiya Liu Yuru as the next emperor and empress. All four individuals have proved their value as the People's Prince and People's Princess. Yet, he has finally opted for Zhou Gaolang, knowing the latter will ultimately pass it on to Zhou Ye, who should be his most favorite son, by now.
In the beginning, Gaolang had slighted Zhou Ye because the latter was the son of a concubine. After Zhou Ye proved his character and ambition, and was promoted to the royal court, did Zhou Gaolang finally bestow the recognition equal to that of his legitimate sons birthed by his wife?
And I think what makes his acting even better is that the voice is his original voice. With all the nuances expressed…
During the "final" conversation between father and son (...XD) in episode 35 or 36, it felt like Jiang He has known that Luo is his lovechild bastard. Because of his upper class status, he would not acknowledge Luo as his progeny, especially with Luo's history of criminal behaviors, which Jiang He eluded to.
On the sidelines, you might wonder if Jiang He has been plotting to overthrow the dynasty when Fan Xuan dies. He knows that CP is the weakest link. He was biding his time in jail. Freedom and the only one to keep the ministers in check, he could be on track for domination.
Yeah a formidable business woman who seemingly came out of nowhere. Yuru must have been the last person that pops…
This is my two cents. Was Jiang He related to Mr Gu, or were the wives, blood relatives? Mr Gu might have told his wife that he had to help Luo's mother and child, knowing that Little Luo was Jiang's son.
Little Luo saw Mr Gu visit his mother a few times, and assumed he was his father. He then noticed that Mr Gu had a son, Juisi, and became jealous, and hated both of them. Meanwhile did Jiang He marry into the Royal family? Was the wife related to the Emperor?
Years later, he wanted Jiu Si to marry Princess. What confuses me, is how Little Princess and Little Jiusi would have met each other? They were not in the same circles.
There’s not alot the Emperor can do against the Dowager Empress she has the full support and respect of most…
Have you noticed that most of the emperors in the costume dramas seem to have the same temperament? The weight of the kingdom rests heavily on their shoulders. Unfortunately, all the wealth is contained within the palace or by the upper class, while the peasants are poor and hungry.
They keep showing that incense burner, LOL, I don't know what incense they're using, but it's giving me a throat…
Everytime I see the incense burning during Emperor's coughing fits, I yell, "Why don't you change the incense?" It might be irritating his lungs. Or "Get him some ginger soup and tea, please!" Even tumeric might help. LOL
There's also a drug that make you sleep 6-7 days like a death person.. btw that scene is not new to me hahaha…
They did the fake death in that Joseph Zheng drama. I think Wang Yang was also in the drama. I can't remember the title. Everyone thought the master was dead for days. His coffin was thrown into the lake, and he came to, soon after. he was the master villain.
I creid my hearts out, like there is no tomorrow, as if my heart was broken on episodes 33. The only comfort was…
I felt sorry for LZS when he was crying. It shows his humanity. He has been masterminding a huge revenge plot, but the writer never made it look like he was a lunatic off the deep end.
It doesn’t turn a corner lol. But you’ve lasted this long. if you don’t watch the happy ending, all of your…
Six more episodes... how many days left?
I noticed that dramacool does not get access to the final two subbed episodes of some dramas for many days. They did post the raw episodes of the last two dramas I was watching, but the subbed version was tardy.
Realistically speaking, the Emperor only has power if people recognize him for having power and follow his orders…
If he stripped the Gu family of their fortune, how will the old ladies and the servants survive? Will they have to sell the mansion, and live on the streets?
Wow!! I'm excited to see how Jiang He and LZS battle it out! So interesting when Jiang He said to LZS that they…
Both men must be stupid AF if they don't know the truth. Both men are good at speculation and strategy. Although, Jiang He have know all these the years. He is not going to confess to Luo.

Why didn't Dowager follow her dead Emperor husband?
