Funny that you mentioned the many Zhous..., I googled "Zhou", and found out that there was a Zhou Dynasty from 1046 BC – 256 BC; the longest dynastic regime in Chinese history.
I don't pay attention to the names of the sub-kingdoms/towns. It was confusing when Emperor was surveying the map. It took me a long time to memorize Youzhou, Yangzhou and Eastern Capital while I was watching the previous episodes.
We are on the last stretch of the drama. Four episodes to introduce the new emperor and more palace conflict and resolution. Fan Xuan was in a quandary, to choose between Zhou Ye and General Qin or Gu Jiusi and Shiya Liu Yuru as the next emperor and empress. All four individuals have proved their value as the People's Prince and People's Princess. In the beginning, Gaolang had slighted Zhou Ye because the latter was the son of a concubine. After Zhou Ye proved his character and ambition, and was promoted to the royal court, did Zhou Gaolang finally bestow the recognition equal to that of his legitimate sons birthed by his wife?
