The production team wasted episodic time on Yun Xiang being drunk and heartbroken. If they had cut it down to ten minutes only, they would have freed up two episodes to fill in the loopholes toward the end...the biggest one being the Nangong-Guan alliance.

Yun Xiang rode his horse fast and furious for a hundred miles to reunite with Shu Yanan. The climactic reunion was a tap on the shoulder and a smile. No conversation, no hug, no tears of joy! We were robbed.
