I always remembered Kim Joo Hyuk since I watched Lovers in Prague, ten years ago. I watched all his episodes of Two days, One Night, during the KBS TV broadcast. Over the ten years, I watched some of his dramas and movies. His acting performance as the villain in Confidential Assignement was perfect, and he was playing against type.

I feel the grief that his family, relatives, friends and work colleagues are going through right now. Rest in peace, Kim Joo Hyuk.

Wang so learned the power of makeup! LOL He sure did.
I hope they did not have a long rainy season in Goryeo times. Makeup runs in the rain.

MUAHAHAHAHA! The taglines of the above K-dramas are amusing and succinct. Now, if K-dramas could be succinct, and cut out filler and flashbacks.

Idk about others but I fast forwarded the whole time the female lead had one expression she was a stone the whole…
I had the same impression of the female lead. Deadpan acting!

Yah they end up together happily. CCS-XYR
Happy ending, but no romantic feels between the two characters!

At episode 24: Lady Chu has received so many warnings--I mean in Empress of China, for context, you get no warnings.…
@KMR, You also noticed the king's constant declaration of having people killed, and he does not follow through with his threats. I set my watch by him.

@Jordan, Lady Chu and the other malfeasants are still hanging around the palace. The eunuch should have been removed after 10 episodes. Lady Chu must be high up in her tribe, that King Ying cannot get rid of her.

Have you ever watched a drama and summarily determine about ep20 that you do not like the main actors and DO NOT…
This drama is painstaking to watch, and the actors and their characters are coming across as cardboard cutouts, that I feel no empathy with them.

The king threatened to kill people, like clockwork, in the first 20+ episodes, but did not make good on his threats. Li Gongsun was also mousy around the King, but her banter with Old Dowager Granny and Madame Chu, was razor sharp and biting. Jing Ke is lackluster as the swordsman/SLS (second lead syndrome), and Gai Lan follows him around like a little puppy.

The choppy editing seems to diminish the characters' value on screen. Some scenes are so brief, that it seemed like a waste of finances and manpower to set up, and film them. The constant sudden anvil strike with camera lens zoom to show the character's reaction, gives me palpitations.

Title Lost Love in Times Spoiler
Besides the romance, is this drama about brothers fighting over a throne? I watched the first episode and wasn't…
The plot has not been clarified.

Qing Chen's goal is have Yuan Ling dethrone Father Emperor before she evaporates into thin air.
Ling does not aspire to be Emperor. He might, when he finds out that his biological father, the late Emperor was killed by the man he calls "Father".
Ming, who is unhinged (like his father), aspires to be the next Emperor.
Zhan is like Wang Wook of Moon Lovers; the intellectual botanist who might be waiting for the opportunity to get rid of the competition.
Hao, Crown Prince, does not want to be Emperor.
Che is following Ling like a puppy follows his/her master/mistress. He has never dreamed of being the ruler.
Li seems to be an undercover sorceror, who has taken over the prince's body.
Ji, who was treated as the runt of the Emperor's litter, killed himself, to save Ming's reputation.

Only reason i'm watching this is because of Ying Zheng i was waiting for something like this that's…
I keep reading that King is a ruthless tyrant, but so far, he is a normal ruler, issuing life or death edicts. My main objection is that he keeps threatening people with death in almost every episode, but he never follows through.

He doesn't trust anyone, which is justifiable, but he keeps the Eunuch Zhao next to him. "Just get rid of that weasel/snake/backstabber, Bixia." At the rate he is going, Zheng will end up like King Wang So in Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo. All alone in the end!

Please Drama God fix Jing Ke's weird side bang. That is all.
Jing Ke's side bang is ridiculous. It seems to be a prerequisite for Asian costume drama swordsmen, but it must interfere with the field of vision in battle.
On The King's Woman Sep 12, 2017
The king is handsome, and his costumes are beautiful. His favorite line in almost every episode, is "I will kill...", but he never follows through with his threats. I can anticipate when he will say those words. I wish the would get rid of the weasel, Eunuch Zhao. It looks like King will lose the throne over a woman, who can no feelings for him.

Production wise, I cannot stand the constant anvil strike with zoom closeup, as a character reaction shot. The Director and the Editor are diminishing the production value with this amateurish film/camera lens technique.

Does anyone has a membership on On Demand Korea? Is it any good?
@irilight I spend money to watch a K-movie in the theatre. Ticket price and the must-have popcorn! LOL

ODK did post some new movies, then they stopped. I am waiting for Battleship Island on 8/04/17.

I don't care that I'm probably adding to the negativity here, but this first episode was a pain to go…
@NekoMinSeo Our To Watch Lists keep expanding. There are four recent K-dramas that I have to start or complete.
