Gripping, breathtaking, and twisted
From the first five minutes I became a fan of our protagonist Motoko. Motoko has big dreams, she is not delusional and she's ruthless, and she will not stop at anything to achieve her goals.
When she started small at her Carnet cabaret I was thinking the drama was about how she will survive the ruthless Ginza hostess district and become a well known mama, but when she started having greed to rise at the top of Ginza by acquiring Rodan I was speechless (Positively of course). I did not expect her to be that goddamn ruthless and have such big guns.
Hashida deserved whatever came his way, Narabayashi even more as he is actually worse than Hashida, I don't know why they kept painting Hashida in a worse picture than Narabayashi who is a total mess.
Characters that triggered me:
1- Namiko: What an annoying brat! She had no purpose, she was nothing when Motoko took her off the streets and taught her how to become a hostess then her life turned into just competing with Motoko, she had no dreams, no aspirations and goals other than destroying Motoko and that was really infuriating.
2- Head Nurse Ichiko: That stupid hag, I found her the most rage inducing character. The way she only lived to serve Narabayshi and took whatever he threw her way was actually dumbfounding, she must have suffered some type of Stockholm syndrome. When she decided to take revenge on Motoko while Narabayashi himself couldn't be bothered, omg what a total dummy.
Lastly, I wished Yasujima and Motoko ended up together, it wouldn't have worked probably but Motoko deserved some love to soften her heart, the death of the branch manager was really sad as all perpetrators got Scott free actually while he took all the blame and died.
