Sister, you're on point with most of this list. But one female lead I find up to par with Bai Qian is Ki Nyang from Empress Ki. Not only can she kick ass with her martial arts, but she is also smart enough to out throw the drama villains through her genius plots. If you haven't watched the drama, I definitely recommend it to you. Ki Nyang is a true female lead that impress.
Other great female leads I know are from really old dramas: Dae Jang Geum from Jewel in the Palace and Deokman from Queen Seon Deok.
Wow, what a pleasant read. This article represents exactly the roller coaster of emotions I felt through the drama. And we have the same taste; Eternal Love is my ALL TIME favorite C-drama (maybe even all time favorite drama, period). I think there was a fan war a while back between EL and AOL enthusiasts, but as a lover of both dramas I find it quite silly. For me, the fact that both of these gems exist to fill 100+ hours of my life with beautiful story telling and heart wrenching scenes is something to be thankful for.
For me, AOL is beautiful in the imperfection of its characters. The writer portrays each character with their own flaws and weakness. Sure, there are those characters that are so bad that you wish they die one of those cruel deaths that dramas often have (yes, the Empress). But even the 'good' characters are not entirely flawless. Take human Rou Rou for example, best friend to the main character, but also stupid enough to try to poison Jin Mi to 'save her', costing her life. Even the main character, Jin Mi, has a flaw enough to misunderstand and try to kill the love of her life (though she can't feel love yet), even though she has been by his side for years and should have known his true character by now, regardless of evidences. In all, I think the writer is a genius in developing each character (even side characters), and her (his?) skills are to be applauded.
Now, to the last question of which team I'm in; I'm in Team Puchi.
Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that Jin Mi and Puchi are good together? He has always been by her side from the very beginning, literally back from the Flower Realm grape sprite Jin Mi days, through thick and thin with her even when everyone else hated her for stabbing Xu Feng. Again, he's not perfect, and I know in this world no writer would be daring enough to make a dramatic plot twist of Jin Mi ending up not with Xu Feng, not with Run Yu, but with Puchi (imagine that!).
If I'm Jin Mi in real life, I'd go for Puchi. He's the safest and most comfortable choice; he's your loyal best friend; he's not the strongest in the world but strong enough to protect you; sure he doesn't have royal blood but he doesn't come packaged with a murderous obsessive mother-in-law either; great sense of humor to not leave you bored through the rest of eternity; and last but not least, a great face.
you can see that scene in ep 24 ^^ here's the link if you haven't seen it yet - http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6bs9w4
Yes, just finished too and I’m hoping for more!
So fun to go back in time when their relationship is back to the basics and XiaoXi is still chasing him with devotion. Straight after I rewatched scenes from ep 23 just to see the contrast XD
Guys save me! After watching ending of ep 23 I realize there are few scenes here n there I have never seen before.…
Thanks for the clarification guys! I thought it was weird that I haven’t seen some of them that looked important, like when he ‘accidentally’ called her and threw the phone to the lake.
I was upset that I missed them and was considering rewatching episodes to see what I’ve missed. But I guess its everybody that has to miss out on these precious scenes T T

Hello fellow ZLY lovers, here I'm a new big fan :) Woah, the amazing girl really have many dramas in her…
No worries :)
I don't know about the others but since I heard that she gained popularity from Legend of Chisen I might start watching that next. ZLY just has that irresistible cuteness that males and females alike adore, particularly emplified in Boss&Me. I do love her

Lots of people reviewed that it has tragic ending, which also made hesitate. But then I read one comment that said that the ending is not as bad as they expected, which was the 'push' for me to give it a try. After I found it was not as bad as I expected after all, you may call it bittersweet.

Hi, yeah I'm a new fan of her too! I watched her first time in PA and Boss&Me, loved how cute she was, then watched Journey of the Flower. You should check it out
