Tbh your comment feels like a giant stream of consciousness and started with an unsubstantiated personal attack so I don't think I will respond further, but I'll clarify a few points. Being sheltered and living with overbearing conservative parents made her emotionally stunted. I don't have any respect for that explanation, especially since she repeatedly placed the ML in messy situations that blew up his closest relationships. I'm not sure how old you are, but your brain is only fully developed around 25, sometimes even later. This is clearly a formative relationship for him and most likely his first serious relationship. He already understands some of it, but I think as he gains more life experience it will become even more clear how poorly handled the entire situation was by some of the most trusted adults in his life.
